Did Anybody see the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards??? (horribly inappropriate for children)

Posted on 03/29/2009 3:28:18 PM PDT by chevydude26

Not only was Leonardo DiCaprio there trying to brainwash kids into global warming scare tactics, but there were a ton of questionable song nominees...like " I kissed a Girl"

really Nick?? that song is appropriate for little children??

The p*ssycat dolls were an appropriate act to come out in skimpy outfits telling kids about boobies and guys feeling them???

I say we should all write nick or something to stop trying to turn our children into liberal sexualized machines

I remember when I was younger (and I’m 25!) when they had all these shows were people had to go through obstacle courses and what not.

Now it’s all teenybopper boybands and idiot rappers with slutty Hannah Montana and of course Hilary Duff who is already sexing herself up.

The whole point of the Nickelodeon channel is that they are supposed to have age appropriate shows and events.

Their whole point is left wing indoctrination and instilling of Hollywood liberal values.

I guess I have to replace the old tv in the family room so we will be able to block channels.

i’m 25 too...and yeh tv geared towards children seems different...the switch became apparent at or around the late 90’s

ironically though this was also the era of the boyband and puff daddy type rap which took the place of grunge and metal

It all fell apart when MC Hammer wasn’t considered hardcore enough. He was a fun rapper and I think Vanilla Ice was pretty cool too.

We don’t have cable, but we were at my mom’s watching Sponge Bob. A lot of innuendo in that, too much. I also saw the ads for the children’s choice thing. Will Farrell was in it, that was all I needed to know.

can’t say ...I confess I didn’t see it myself ...but my 7 year old came up from the basement (where the TV is) very dramatically fell in to a chair proclaiming she couldn’t watch it (the awards) anymore ...she said it was horrible.

For 43 days we are watching EWTN (Catholic Broadcasting) only.

I happen to go on a overnight trip and the late night check in at the hotel had only 1 tv channel.

Playing on that channel was a mortally sin yahoo filled reality show the Bad Girls Club.
( I got a good chuckle out of the whole thing)

Got up early and left (yes the same marathon was on).

There are so many non MSM tv alternatives along with non tv activities in life that parents have a choice.

Nick and such have a veiwing crowd that will buy all the stuff they advertize and those families who choose to do so have that right just as much as those who do not seek an alternative.

That is odd. The only reason I can see to put an * in the word pussycat is to let the coarser elements of society steal another word from the English language.

Here is the dictionary definition:

"puss-y-cat noun
1. a cat; pussy.
2. Informal. a person or thing not at all threatening: a pussycat underneath all his gruffness."

in case you thought the word meant something else. Sure it has a couple of slang meanings that are off color but the word itself is not off color.

Did you start the thread to allow the coarser elements of society to steal more words from us?

Several years ago, Rosie O’Donnell was the host, which a print ad proclaimed “the best friend a kid ever had”. No, no Agenda there, never has been.

Really? What song is that?

I think you must have misunderstood something.

He thought FR might have a censor program (like a lot of messageboards) that delete or replace certain character strings.

I’m 24. nick was way different when I was growing up.

I casually watch the Real World on MTV and I remember a few seasons ago, they had a girl on who was an Army nurse and she was in Iraq. She was a Republican and the editing made her out to look like a complete psycho. Anytime she mentioned her position on the war, they desperately tried to make her look as uncool and crazy as they could.

Now, on this season, they have an Iraq war vet on who hates the war and hates GW. I’m grateful for his service, regardless of how he feels. However, they dedicated hours of covering him and his story. He kept saying in one episode, “I’m voting for Obama because if he wins, I know I will never have to go back there.” Well, in the last episode, he gets called up for active duty. And seeing how things are playing out now, Obama isn’t ending anything any time soon. So I guess we’ll see how well that promise works out./s

It’s frustrating to see the bias and no one pay attention to it. The indoctrination is so obvious to anyone who has eyes and ears. I’m sad that my generation is the one that brought on this mess.

The Generals name was W Warmonger...

Close, but not quite that blatant. His name was General W.R. Monger. During the movie they referred to him as "General Monger".

I saw "Monsters vs. Aliens" this weekend also, and thought the depiction of the President was closer to Obama than the moviemakers had obviously intended: a bumbling moron. Too bad for Hollywood this movie came out so soon after Zero's inauspicious beginning.

WR MONGER my ears heard W Warmonger I immediately took offensive and it seemed every silly scene was to degrade and mock our troops and former President. Next time I will have a stiff drink and have my husband drive to the movies so I could chill out!
