Why would you allow your dog to eat chocolate, much less
food left lying around in public?

No chocolate for dogs period.

Well, if the dogs are galloping around in a park, they find things you don’t know about.

I was thinking the same thing. Then again, why would someone leave out poison randomly like that. Even a child could have eaten in.

You must be kidding!

Or you must not have a lab.

Or you must not have a dog, period.

Bubba, the hundred pound black lab, has a head that moves like a snake if he sees something edible.

If I was forewarned ahead of time I could steer him away from the goodies, but it would be iffy.

When it comes to food, dogs can warp time and space getting it down their throats. Even if the dog is on a leash, if you don't spot the food before the dog you are at a severe disadvantage, to put it mildly.

Couldn’t people just bother to train their dogs to not eat anything that they find laying around? I’ve heard it can be done.
