Do teens today even associate this eye gesture as a slam against Asians? My kids had no idea people ever associated fried chicken with southern blacks, or watermellon.... we eat both so any comments by them would never have had a thing to do with any racial sterotypes.
Most teens today have gone to schools that have kids from all ethnic backgrounds so they may even be doing something and have no idea it has a history.

A guy I worked with claimed 'oriental' was a highly offensive term.
I wish I had a nickle for every business establishment I saw while traveling throughout Asia that had the word 'oriental' in it.
Guess nobody old them how offensive they were being.

Most teens today have gone to schools that have kids from all ethnic backgrounds Kids have all ethnic backgrounds, except on the Disney channel. You can watch 100 episodes of Hannah Montana, and you might see 1 Asian kid, if you are lucky and even then, not more than 60 seconds.
Plus, did you watch "High School Musical" ? Almost no Asians at all. Even the head of the science club was a black girl. The only asian I saw was an asian girl in the science club who got to say 3 words and that was it.
