Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park has been locked down because of a report of a student with a gun in a restroom, authorities said.
Rohnert Park police were at the Snyder Lane school and were mobilizing both officers and medical personnel. An initial sweep of the school with two five-person teams did not locate anyone, but the school remained on lockdown, authorities said.
Redcom, the countys emergency dispatch system, confirmed they had staged an ambulance at the scene as a precaution.
News of the lockdown was announced to students and staff via public address system sometime around or after 9:20 a.m.
A woman who answered the phone at the school around 10 a.m. declined comment and then hung up.
God, if true, I hope it’s a “deer rifle”.
Ugh say some prayers....rchs is on lockdown..a kid has a gun and is holding some kids hostage....I've heard from all nieces/nephews except Pou.....we can't reach him he's not answering his phone or replying to texts

Maybe add the state to keyword and title?
I hope it’s turns out to be nothing.
Link goes to a newspaper out of California.
Sorry about that. Rohnert park in CA, about 40 miles north of SF.
And someone from Chicago will interpret this as another reason that I should not have firearms.
Go figure.
Sometimes links even go to TV stations which give no indication of their state.
I think the state should appear in parentheses in the title..."Violence in Greenville! (Miss)"
My favorite example was an episode that took place at "Columbus High School, just off the Interstate".
No link, no nothing.
Reminds me or a New Mexican giving directions... “Turn left at the sleeping dog...” and you know where they’re talking about.
Sounds like they are coming up empty as far as a gunman.
I see at least 4 of them in that picture. :p
LOL! You have a point!
looks like the guy in back is being guarded while he takes a leak against the wall.
Makes perfect sense, they thought the gunman was holed up in one of the bathrooms.
it was a false alarm. some kid called in a fake threat on a prepaid cell phone because it was the day of the exit test. good response from the police though
