That's too funny... like when my then 4-year-old daughter would start singing Oasis impromptu... "Where were you when we were getting high?" Gosh that just about killed me.

I always shop at Abercrombie. No one beats their tanks and tees for fit and comfort. Love them. (I'm also a slave to Lucky Brand which blessedly has a twice-yearly 50% off sale. LOL.)

Oooh yeah, Night Ranger or Warren Zevon would have been great, too! “Come Together” is sort of a boring song. It doesn’t go anywhere. I love Van Morrison, so even a little “Brown-eyed Girl” would have been good. I don’t know if he would have consented to having his song used though. Van is a little notorious for being a wee temperamental.

I totally agree about Kris. I started out not really liking him, but he won me over and now he’s just “meh.” I think it’s probably going to be his last night.

Old Navy has cute stuff too. (I even shop there!)

I hear ya. Probably 75% of my clothes come from there. LOL

I was thinking Hollister, too.

Oh another good choice! I knew you ladies would help me out.

I’m a t-shirt and jeans girl generally, but I love clothes. My SIL...uh..not so much. She always says, “Why should I buy clothes that are in style when the style is just going to change again???”

So she and I sort of differ in opinion there.

I may be too late to catch you before you go to the store, but the twin-niece likes American Eagle and Limited too. Also a dept store like Macy’s has alot, but you have to get through all the junior-trashy stuff to find something for a tween. This task is possible, but difficult. Good luck.

No, I haven’t left yet. I can’t go until after dinner. That’s the hardest part, getting something cool, but not trashy.

I feel bad because her mom insists on getting her stuff in the either girls plus-sized or women’s sections. She’s 12 and not overweight. She makes Retro-Niece get women’s sized medium shirts. Okay, I’m about 8-10 inches taller then her, at least 40-50 pounds heavier and I wear a large. Unless she has had a growth spurt of epic proportions since Christmas, we are not one size apart.

I was going to go to the regular, average mall (the one with the JC Penney’s), but I think I’m going to go to the swanky mall with the Tiffany’s and Macy’s. They also have a Hollister and Ambercrombie and the regular mall doesn’t.

Thanks everyone, for your help! I appreciate it very much!

I knew it! I didn’t play the original after the show, but I just knew he was better. Obviously, he did not come up with that rock anthem, Zeppelin gets full credit there, but he improved upon it, and that’s amazing.

Love your clip — the boys and I watched. He was obviously trying to dial himself down for that role.

the country is falling apart and people obsess over this show. how sad.

Um, can we have a couple hours to enjoy some singing and critiques, or need we wring our hands the ENTIRE week??

You are wrong. If they were pimping Adam as gay, they’d have not had him sing “woman” in his song last night. Also, he does not need a pimp; he is that good. Thirdly, when he is over-campy and queeny, he falls right into the bottom three. America is voting for talent, not outrageousness, clearly.

Someone last night mentioned how Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, and a few others also hit those sort of notes. That's true, but they don't do it in every single song.

I think if you go back and actually listen to their music, they did do it in parts of just about every song they did (the successful ones, anyway). Particularly Plant, Tyler, and Rose.

Adam's voice has a very similar style to those guys. And his tone is almost always pitch perfect, which is impossible unless you are extremely talented (Danny Gokey, last night, for example).

Kara's comments were dead on last night. Nobody is making music like those guys any more, and it's my absolutely favorite music. Give me GnR, AC/DC, Aerosmith, LZ, Ozzy, etc., and I'm a happy camper. The key will be in whoever is writing the music. Can anyone today write music like we had back then?

The music of those groups I listed hold up. They are very popular even among today's teens (I have two), and if someone new could come along and replicate the quality of those groups back then, they could do very, very well today.

I just bought the Adam & Allison duet, my first buy of the year.

It is fabulous, and I’ve watched/listened a dozen or more times now. Man, at the end, when Allison jumps to hug Adam, it’s like, in that instant she knows that duet just put her into next week.

(I hope.)

I am in NE TX. Last weekend my daughter and granddaughters went to Canton - First Monday weekend. The 15 year old came back with what I would guess is a knock-off of a Gucci bag. She did save her own money (birthday, Christmas, baby-sitting, etc) to buy a Coach bag last year.

Like I said, they get a kick out of going to Goodwill - they have gotten some nice clothes that way. Both girls want modest, but up-to-date clothes.

I’m mostly a jeans and tee girl too. Being short means that nothing fits right-even the petite stuff so I have a hard time finding well fitting things which is so frustrating. I need to be rich so I could hire someone to tailor all my clothes like they recommend on What Not To Wear. I prefer to buy shoes and purses as they don’t need any alteration!

OT-you a Kings of Leon fan? I noticed the tagline...
