Adam has learned his stage craft well. He and Kris knocked it outta the park. If all the contestants were doing the high jump last night. Kris and Adam were using the 8 foot bar and everybody else was still jumping the 4 foot bar. The rest are going to have to kick up notch plus several BAMS! (a little Emeril Lagasse lingo there) if they are going to stay in this.

As for Megan....So Long. Good Bye. Have fun on the tour. I was thinking maybe her and Carly from last season could hook and wear a big one dress with both of them in it and show off each of their arms but I realized that they both had the same arm tated. Oh well.

Thanks. He was my step dad, but, really he was more like a father to me than my own dad. He certainly was more involved in my life. He was a good man.

A little story from the funeral. My step dad work at the local lumber yard after selling their bar and grill. He retired from there. The boss would stop by the house now and then and apologize to him often, about how badly he treated him. I guess he didn’t pay him all that well. I wasn’t privy to a lot of this, mys sister is the one that was telling a group of us about it.

Anyway, the lumber yard picked up the tab for the food served at the luncheon.

I get the feeling that the boss didn’t realize what a good worker he had in my step father. I know he was a steady worker that didn’t miss work and he was a hard worker, too.

I think it might have had something to do with my step dad having had a heart attack and when he went back to work, they made him climb the stairs for parts all day long when younger guys could have done it. But, my step dad didn’t complain about it. Sure, he was tired out at the end of the day, and sore, since he had arthritis in his back since he was quite young (30’s-40’s).

I think once an employee has drawn benefits of any kind, they sort of look for ways to get rid of them. But, I think he realized too late that my step dad was a really good worker and not scamming them.

I also know that once a month my mom and step dad prepared some sort of dinner connected with the lumber yard.

Moral of the story is that boss’ need to really pay attention to their workers and treat them fairly. Treat each case individually. Just because one worker is a jerk doesn’t mean all are. I have a feeling that whatever he did or said, that he will continue to regret it.

I couldn't bear to watch. I'm assuming it's "Prince of Darkness meets Japanese Game Show"?

Same here. I was cringing at moments. I was like "Ozzy you sang with Black Sabbath and had Randy Rhodes as a guitarist pioneering some of the world's best Heavy Metal and this is what you've been reduced too?" It was a sad moment. But hey I guess for commercialsim it works for them so the best to him and his family.

That is a touching story. It sounds like your Step-Dad had a good funeral. Yep most bosses don't realize what good workers are until they are gone. Your right you always need to treat people with respect because you never know that someday you might be needing them for something or wishing they were still working with you.

It's like an siezure set to bluegrass fiddle.

LOL. If Lady GaGa is the number one download then it must be a poor week for the downloads. Sigh*

The State Department has always had an Office of Protocol. If the office doesn’t have someone there yet for the Obama Administration, or if they put in one of Michelle’s old buddies from Trinity, they could at least consult someone from one of the past Administrations to find something thoughtful and appropriate.

There is absolutely NO excuse, none whatsoever, for them to make the USA looks so damned low and cheap. Not like it’s coming out of Obama’s own ‘hard-earned’ dollars. It’s really just embarassing.

I think the Gordon Brown gift exchange was a White House fiasco, but, I would say that a rare signed Rodgers and Hammerstein songbook of the Queen’s favorites (and those favorites on the ipod) definitely isn’t the worst gift they ever gave! lol The Gordon Brown’s come to mind! :)

You know what gets me, is these people that blame President Bush for the deficit. We had a Democratic Congress for the last couple of years and Obama VOTED FOR the very things he’s saying he inherited from President Bush. He didn’t inherit them, he helped CAUSE them. And then he goes and doubles the deficit in his first two months of office. Insanity.

I don’t regret voting for Obama. Not for one second.

Of course I didn’t vote for him.

And I have thoroughly enjoyed sending things like The Economist editorial blathering about “not the Obama we thought he was” to the idiots (my kids) who DID vote for him based on that endorsement.

My bet that Adam picks “Hurts So Good” by John Cougar Mellencamp and turns it into a crooner ballad.
