Just off the top of my head I could think of a better gift for the Queen than a chintzy iPod.
When she visited the US two years ago, she met with WWII veterans at the memorial in Washington.
How about a large poster-size version of this photo (or one similar), inside a nice hand-made frame.
Maybe the photo could have been signed by WWII veterans, including President George HW Bush, wishing her well and thanking her for her lifelong friendship to our country.
This would have been far more meaningful gift to her than an $199 gizmo filled with showtunes, for Heaven's sake.
I'm embarrassed :-/

WTH was that? Crowing? Like a crow? At the end of Rocking Robin she said 'Caw, Caw'. Vote For The Worst liked that and they used that in their articles about her. I'm guessing that she knew that she was their pick and the Caw Caw and flapping of wings was a kind of 'shout out' to them. They would refer to her as the bird woman and did all kinds of chops of her with birds, including Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds".

I'm embarrassed, too -- embarrassed that 50-plus percent of the voters in this great nation foisted that cheap pretender on ourselves and the world. Of course, all of our enemies are delighted.

That would have required some thought.
Remember when President Bush gave the Japanese PM a vintage Wurlitzer jukebox filled with Elvis songs, because the PM was a huge Elvis fan? The left acted like that was the dumbest, corniest thing anyone could ever do in a million years.
But an Ipod full of showtunes and Obama speeches is OK?
The trick to giving a good gift is to give the person something they want, not something you want them to have. You would think someone on the O staff would have figured this out by now.
