Report: Bristol Palin and Fiancé Split
TODAY ^ | 03.11.09 | STAFF

The pair, parents to 2-month-old son Tripp, broke up 'a few weeks ago'

Bristol Palin and her fiancé Levi Johnston have broken up, two sources tell PEOPLE.

The split happened "a few weeks ago," according to a source close to the couple, but it's unclear what precipitated it. "It was a mutual thing," adds the source.

"It kind of just happened," says the source, referring to the split. "I thought they would stick it out. But I think they can work together to raise Tripp."

Despite the breakup, Levi still sees the couple's son. Levi's dad, Keith Johnston, told PEOPLE recently that his son is a devoted and "proud father."

Bristol, meanwhile, is attending Wasilla High, taking a class to supplement course work she is completing at home. She also is considering enrolling in college next fall and studying nursing.

“>>.you are scarey like that nitwitmom or whatever her name is.<<

Wow thanks!!!!
I feel special.”

Well, that’s nice....I am glad you feel special. At least this discussion did something for someone.

As a citizen of this republic I take
my responsibility very seriously.
I am interested in trying to ascertain
who will be the best candidate for my side
in the next election.
This is relevant whether you all admit it
or not.

Actually, it did a lot for me.
It made me realize WHY we have the teen pregnancy rates we do.

Just as your attempt as logic is. Have fun in your glass house.

No, I was making the attempt to stay away from "first and second party" finger pointing. I believe in free discussion. Debate is good. I try not to name call as becomes personal and emotional. I just responded to your judgement of others;someone you do not know, as if deciding their past, present and future as it were or will be.

“But somehow I thought it would be easy to be conservative on FR. Didn’t you?”

many conservatives love Palin. I can understand since Sarah did so much for conservatives when others (including her running mate!) tried to move away from us.

Is that would YOU would tell them? I can't control what other parents teach their children. I can only control what I teach mine.

I hate to say this, but it sounds like you're a little bitter that teens are popping out kids and you are having to wait to adopt. I completely understand that and you're right to feel that way. But you're using an awful big brush to paint every circumstance.

do not blame Palin for McCain’s loss, but I am not at liberty to discuss who is who among the various influence peddlers with whom I associate

ah..thought so... explains a lot. No further questions.

Have a good evening.

Dear Lord, I made a typo!!! String me up now. Give me a Duff beer, I'm clearly Homer.

It should have read 'just as your attempt AT logic is'.

You try not to name call, however you assert that I
am being judgemental as well as sexist.
This is not honest.

The FACT is that society has always held that a man and woman who have not committed themselves to each other and their children through the ceremony of marriage have no business indulging themselves in acts which may bring a child into the world without guarantee of a committed mother and father.

And the FACT is that society has the right to express disapproval of those who do, regardless of whether the child is likely to burden the public for its support.

The importance of the committed, two-parent family is vital to the maintenance of a healthy society, and those who flout these norms reduce the overall stability and health of society.

Illegitimacy and single parenthood are indeed both bad things and indeed everybody’s business, which is NOT the same thing as saying that state intervention is required in every case.

People need to explain why things that were commonplace understandings two generations ago have since become unspeakable.

BTW, I am all for ending this type of welfare because it only breeds generations dependent on the government. I wonder how many of these welfare teens would be procreating if there was no help for them.

>>Is that would YOU would tell them? <<

That’s what society tells them. Their schools, television and their peers.

I find it strange that you see bitterness in wanting children to have a great life. I have raised a niece and a nephew then my own children. We do have a loving home and are willing to adopt/foster children. We have looked into it and if Our Lord wants us to have them, we will.

But what we are doing now is not curbing teen pregnancies. Maybe we should try something different. It affects all of us.

So if what we are doing isn’t working, what should we do to end it?

"I know what its like to want a child, to want to be a mother, but don't fault a single parent for wanting the same things you do. "

it's not just that she's a single parent but also a teenage single parent
