The pair, parents to 2-month-old son Tripp, broke up 'a few weeks ago'
Bristol Palin and her fiancé Levi Johnston have broken up, two sources tell PEOPLE.
The split happened "a few weeks ago," according to a source close to the couple, but it's unclear what precipitated it. "It was a mutual thing," adds the source.
"It kind of just happened," says the source, referring to the split. "I thought they would stick it out. But I think they can work together to raise Tripp."
Despite the breakup, Levi still sees the couple's son. Levi's dad, Keith Johnston, told PEOPLE recently that his son is a devoted and "proud father."
Bristol, meanwhile, is attending Wasilla High, taking a class to supplement course work she is completing at home. She also is considering enrolling in college next fall and studying nursing.

>>nobody said it was easy to be a conservative...sigh.<<
But somehow I thought it would be easy to be conservative on FR. Didn’t you?
Uh huh.
But you are a willing participant in the whirlwind and don’t even know it.
Inquiring mind wants to know.
>>but don’t fault a single parent for wanting the same things you do. <<
All things should be done in the proper time, don’t you think?
So tell me, what consequences are there to giving birth out of wedlock? Why should a girl care at all about having a husband or not. She will get Section 8 housing, food stamps, WIC, a phone, Title 20 daycare and transportation while she goes to college on grants.
Isn’t she rewarded for that baby? Is that what we should do?
So we as conservatives don’t want that. What are we doing to discourage teen births?
People like you make me wonder about the thought process that goes into a stupid comment like that....so, she should have aborted to make sure that if things weren't PERFECT the child wouldn't suffer? You are way off base, she did the right thing and should be commended for not making the mistake of marrying the guy and winding up divorced. Had that happened the same result would have occurred.....a single mother. Please note, a single mother who loves her child and has a great support system.
I'm embarrassed for your comment.
I don't think you have to travel over to the Left to read those remarks..can do it on this thread. Delightful reading it is too! ;)
Hmmmmm....a redneck soap opera where everyone has Park Place names.
>>Please note, a single mother who loves her child and has a great support system.<<
Not all of them do.
Some of them end up on the welfare rolls. Many do. Yet conservative moan and complain about said rolls.
What are we doing to keep babies from being conceived by teens? Look at High School Daycares and see.
“Psychologising your interlocutor is just another form of ad hominem.”
“Psychologising” ????? LOL
May I use that word??? LOL I like the sound of it.
As for how to prevent teen pregnancy, be completely honest with them. Give them all the facts, including the psychological aspects of sex and love as a teen, etc. And then say, if, for whatever reason, you decide to engage in sexual activity- protect yourself. Protect your future. Protect your life. And then I'd talk about condoms, birth control, etc. which I never understood why those things are so taboo for conservatives to talk about.
I'm a firm believer that if you hide things from your kids, they will go find things out on their own. I'd rather arm them with the truth and honesty- and trust they make the right decision.
So you admit that they willingly exposed
Bristol and her child to this.
Their choice.
Your comments are preposterous.
I am not in the grip of the MSM.
Nor has my “little glass house been
shattered.” Your babbling is really rather odd.
I do not blame Palin for McCain’s loss, but I am not at liberty to discuss who is who among the various influence peddlers with whom I associate.
People smugly tear down others to build themselves up. It is as old as society itself. The Pharasees did it back in the day, and their descendants are that way today. So is the smug left in academia.
>>As for how to prevent teen pregnancy, be completely honest with them<<
Section 8 housing, free college, Title 20 daycare, and all the other goodies look pretty good to 16 year olds.
Some are different and won’t like that. Many will. You pay for it. That’s awfully nice of you.
