I realize this isn't a political issue but it's a serious disease loose in the land. Take a look at this practical appraoch to Morgellons and see what you think.
Does this identification mean anything? I do not know
It is not a mental illness folks, it just isn’t. We shall see soon enough ...

Okay, there seems to be some debate as to whether this is a physical or mental illness. I’m neither kind of doctor, so I’m just going to address the Springtail “connection” as I’m a pest service tech. I’ve treated many houses for springtails and have never, ever known them to be anything more than an aggravating nuisance because of the sheer numbers in which they will appear. They can come out of wet ground at something like 50,000 per ten square feet, I think. Hope I’m remembering that correctly. And once everything is dry...they’re gone...meaning it usually constitutes a moisture problem in the ground around the house, in the crawlspace or under a slab.
Anyway, I’ve never once heard of a customer getting sick from them even with a massive infestation. Last year, we started with 24” of rain in March alone and it was the wettest summer I’ve ever seen, I believe, with many, many calls for them. NO illnesses that I know of. I’ve never even heard of this “disease” till I saw this post. I don’t know about anything else on the subject, just wanted to post about my experience on that end of the matter. Who knows? I’ve been proven wrong before.
I have been reading recently of the connection between Fibromyalgia and candida albicans. Seems a regular dosing of acidophilus (or lots of active culture yogurt) reduces Fibromyalgia symptoms dramatically.
I agree, your gut is really where most things go wrong in the body, I’ve being doing that “Activa” yogurt and I take a probotic, I do happy tummy too (colon cleanser). The gut is really key to being able to hold your own with Morgellons, good advice.
I have a yummy icebox pie I make to get more yogurt into my old gut. Interesting how what is going on in your gut has so much influence over what’s happening on/in the skin. But then the skin is the largest organ of the system.
“I’d be curious, my guess is your industry is getting lots of calls of people saying they have fleas or this and that, things biting them when they walk across the carpet, or they could swear they have bed bugs, are you seeing that?”
Sorry, this is a slow thread so I’m checking it when I can so please bear with me & I’ll reply eventually. Yes, We’ve always gotten that. For the most part when that happens, it will be one of many things. If they don’t actually have fleas and they’re not seeing anything, it usually turns out to be chiggers. At least in my area here in North Arkansas. Those things cause much grief. Could also be certain types of mites. The only reason n I addressed this issue is because it seems that a great many articles mention springtails, which I found fascinating, and just wanted to share what I know about them. As I said, I can’t answer for the rest.
Good luck.
You’re welcome. Wish I knew more about the ailment. I understand what you mean about the soil connection now. (That’s what I get for trying to eat, read, and run to work) Since they come from damp soil in such numbers, I see where that would spread the bacterium but so far they’re classified as non-disease spreading (but what if they’re coming out of moldy soil???)& non-biting insects. Don’t know if it’s more a regional thing or not as far as soil bacterium but it seems the bug is almost everywhere as I’ve read that they’ll appear on top of snow in some states in early spring. Wow. Most of the diseases I do hear about here are tick borne. I’d also say that if a woman’s hair falls out on one side...that’s not going to be psychological.
Strange thing, it is.
As to the question on when people have mystery bites, we’ll generally put out insect monitors or glue boards. If springtails are around it’s a sure thing we’ll catch some. If we get nothing at all, it’s probably going to be something from the yard. You’ll usually never see or feel a chigger and those bites will begin to itch either at night or the next morning, causing people to think they’re getting bitten in bed. And they almost NEVER want to hear otherwise. I’m looking forward to learning more about this.
Sorry, I missed answering the question about increases in mystery bites. We usually start getting a quite a few beginning in late March/early April and it increases as the weather warms. It’s always been very common but I don’t think there have been any major increases. We had lots of pest problems in general last year (biters especially)but I believe that was due to the fact that we could keep product on the ground because of all the heavy rainfall. I apologize if this isn’t very helpful.
could keep product=could NOT keep. Sheesh.
