Microsoft copied Apple’s Mac, but couldn’t copy exactly due to legal concerns, so they made everything upside-down and backwards.
Not exactly. On the application side, Microsoft made Mac products very early on and did very well with the Mac interface they ‘got it’ with early offerings of Excel and WOrd on the Mac.
THEN, when Microsoft went to the GUI on the PC (Windows) they didn’t use all those savvy folks from their Mac division to run the show. Not sure why.

Thank you SO MUCH! We are planning to switch this year, if all goes as planned and do want to be prepared.
Would you mind adding me to your ping list?

Windows 7 will be outstanding, that is if they keep it like the beta version.
There is only one problem with Apple, they screw you on the price! If I were to duplicate the computer configuration that I am on to a Mac Pro the price would be $3449. The computer I am on cost me less than $1500 to build.
I have built all of my on computers and in total over the last 10 years I have built about 500 computers for people. I stay abreast of the newest hardware and I can tell you that the Apples are way over priced given the hardware used.
While Apple lovers do not like to hear it, most people are better off with Windows based PC’s since they use them at work in the majority of cases. Plus if you are handy with a screw driver you can build a high performance PC for way less money then upgrade it as newer hardware comes down in price, thus keeping it current.

Macs are nice, but I switched from Windows to Ubuntu...Windows-looking and acting, but everything works, and works much faster.
Linux is the true way.

Actually, both Gates and Jobs stole the interface from Xerox. Gates had the smarts to get them to sign them away.
