You have established no facts. You have simply made statements which lay out your “belief” that no one but the police confiscated guns in new Orelans in the after-math of hurrican Katrina.

In fact, the NRA, and other news outlets, AT THE TIME, roported that guns were being confiscated by police, U.S. Marshals and the National Guard. I suggest you look up some of the reporting (and videos) that were circulating WHILE it was going on.

The police were completely out of control until the NG showed up in NOLA. I can’t say that all NG respected the US Constitution, but the majority did because they were totally disgusted by the local police state that had been established. Basically the NG put some semblence of law back onto the streets.

There are well-documented stories of roving gangs of police coming in from out of state and conspiring with local cops to break into homes and businesses and loot them. They also conspired to kidnap citizens and detain them for days and then force them to leave the area. Once the NG came in, things got more under control and constitutional rights (2nd and 14th amendments in particular) started to be respected again. Until the NG came in, it was OFFICIALLY stated by the local police and sheriff’s departments that the US constitution was no longer in effect for anyone who remained in the area and that is was a de facto police state.
