U.S. Army To Buy $6 Million Of Riot Equipment (Obama plans to crush citizen protests this summer)
blacklistednews ^ | 2/25/09 | Watson

Posted on 03/06/2009 8:45:19 AM PST by pabianice

The U.S. Army is to invest $6 million in riot equipment, a fact that has furthered fears that troops will be used inside the U.S. in order to quell any civil unrest resulting from the ongoing economic crisis.

The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, based at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, has a post on the Federal Business Opportunities website, requesting the equipment and has received several notices of interest from potential vendors.

The request titled “84–RIOT EQUIPMENT” outlines the need for hard polyethylene Shin and Chest Guards, shock absorbing Forearm Protectors, Interior leg brace supports as well as knee and ankle protectors.

The ACA asks that the equipment be able to “safely withstand a substantial blow… from non-ballistic weapons or flying debris”.

The Solicitation also states:

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 453998 with a small business size standard of $6M. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.

Interested vendors include Irish Brigade inc., manufacturers of hunting and safety gear with facilities located in the heart of Kansas City , Missouri. Federal and Military resource company MCLEARVISION, LLC is another interested party, as is Kentucky based U. S. CAVALRY STORE, INC.

In our article yesterday we highlighted the fact that Urban warfare training drills are taking place across the country as top analysts as well as officials predict a potential “summer of rage” across Europe and America as civil unrest from the economic fallout builds.

Are such drills really for the purpose of preparing troops for foreign combat zones? Undoubtedly - but other factors indicate that the drills may very well also be aimed at preparing troops for dealing with mass civil unrest as the economic crisis worsens.

There’s no question that U.S. authorities have been closely observing riots that have toppled governments in Iceland and Latvia and also threatened to do so in several other European countries. The fact that they have contingency plans in place to deal with such scenarios should they unfold in America cannot be disputed.

Indeed, before a media exposé forced them into a denial, Northcom revealed that one of the duties of at least 20,000 active duty troops that are being placed inside the United States would be dealing with “civil unrest and crowd control”.

The U.S. Army War College in November released a white paper called Known Unknowns: Unconventional ‘Strategic Shocks’ in Defense Strategy Development. The report warned that the military must be prepared for a “violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States,” which could be provoked by “unforeseen economic collapse,” “purposeful domestic resistance,” “pervasive public health emergencies” or “loss of functioning political and legal order.” The “widespread civil violence,” the document said, “would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security.”

Welllllllllll, Fred,

I’ve studied the issue since 1965 . . . were I had to handle primary source and other such materials in my job as acting director of the University Special Collections Library.

I gather you have not read 1% of the quotes ref’d in my tagline:

‘Stab proof vests aren’t normal riot gear. That is prison gear. ‘

Stab proof vests and gloves are stardard riot gear in prisons which is what Leavenworth is. Riots don’t only happen on public city streets. All prisons, civilian or military, use riot gear.
When a violent inmate is refusing to follow the rules or is threatening the officers with a weapon, a team of officers rush the cell and subdue the inmate. They are covered in head to toe with protective gear - helmets, face shields, arm protectors, vests, gloves, steel toe boots, thigh, knee, and shin guards.
Those same officers would put down a large riot in the cafeteria or outside exercise area where they may or may not need the stab gear depending on the circumstances.

This small (under $20k) procurement was for the officer’s safety inside Leavenworth.

18% of the population backed the revolution; not all of them fought. I'm not concerned about whether we end up in a revolution, since it is very probable that we will. What concerns me is hopes being built around a civilian militia of incredible size and the sinking morale issue when that doesn't materialize.

There will also be a need for leadership prior to a conflict that can instill discipline and confidence in a ragtag army. You have to be able to feed, clothe, train, and provide medical attention for groups of every size. There has to be communications networks, intel, and transportation. Unless this is being done very quietly, and has already started, initial casualties are going to be very high.

Regardless of right lying on the side of of “we the people”, you had better remind yourself of what death smells like. If you have never smelled it, ask someone who has. Personally, I don’t know of anyone who has been in an armed conflict that wants to see another one or would not do anything in their power to prevent one.

Oh, darn.

Looking bad to those who are MORE CLUELESS is a real concern of mine. /sar

As I’ve said many times . . . my boss at the Univ library had/has the world’s best private collection of pamphlets, broadsides, posters, leaflets, booklets etc. from pre-Hitler Germany.

As I was chiding derisively about the globalist stuff I was preparing for patrons to have access to . . . he exhorted me firmly to avoid my derision—that it was the flakiest groups who

FIRST AND MOST ACCURATELY PREDICTED WHO HITLER WAS AND WHAT HE WOULD DO.

Three or so years ago in Cortez, around a great Chinese meal, I commented somewhat brazenly on globalism/socialism/Communisim in the discussion with our great FR fearless leader.

Since that time, EVEN MORE of such things have occurred at a racing speed—including the ‘selection’ of a traitorous commie as our pseudo-Pres.

That against a backdrop of 40+ years of watching the inexorable march of what our leaders brazenly talked about since 1900 in the list of quotes ref’d in my tagline.

It’s elementary naysayers . . .

THE BIBLE SAYS THERE WILL BE A TYRANNICAL SATANIC GLOBAL GOVERNMENT IN THE SAME ERA WHEREIN ISRAEL BECOMES A NATION AGAIN IN A DAY—as happened in 1948.

The folks—the 30 families or so—who have had the money AND THE POWER carefully managed and protected AND INTENSIFIED AND INCREASED for AT LEAST the last 100-400 years have openly and repeatedly declared that they WILL ESTABLISH SUCH A GLOBAL GOVERNMENT.

And you think I’m crazy for believing

1. The Bible
2. The leaders who’ve demonstrated they have the money, the power, the will, the means and ARE doing exactly that
3. various qualities of sources OBSERVING SUCH HAPPENING before our various eyes.

Wellllllllllll, Phred, guess who comes off not very believable.

My god...have you ever actually read your own words???

I didnt have to read any farther this this utter nonsence:

“I don’t know if it is A FACT that Obama sacrificed his 2 year old daughter in a satanic ritual in order to join the Illuminati. It would not surprise me, if he did—with Michelle’s cooperation.”

You actually typed that with a straight face?

You have SERIOUS mental issues....Please...seek help soon...

And stay WAY away from me....

It looks like I’ll probably go back to Asia to do tent-making missionary work within the year.

I expect to die in the saddle there as things deteriorate globally.

That when I could stay in a great, fairly rural geographic area with free water and free fuel on property my folks have been on since 1952.

Are you very used to being wrong?

You are wrong on this one. And it’s going to bite very hard. I realize there’s not likely anything that will convince you. I realize you are unlikely to read the quotes of our leaders ref’d in my tagline.

I realize you probably don’t believe Kissenger when he declares brazenly that OThuga is the one to carry the USA forward overtly into the global government.

I realize you probably don’t believe Z Brezenski of Carter’s traitorous years saying essentially the same thing.

I realize a talking burning bush would likely not enlighten you significantly.

I realize that hard-headed stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry (I Sam 15:23).

However, I hope, if you have children and a spouse, that for their sakes you wake up.

“I realize there’s not likely anything that will convince you.”

Cop out...if you got so much proof...post it for discussion..

“I realize you are unlikely to read the quotes of our leaders ref’d in my tagline.”

I couldnt get past your manifesto on your profile....

“I realize you probably don’t believe Kissenger when he declares brazenly that OThuga is the one to carry the USA forward overtly into the global government.”

“United states of earth”...has a nice ring to it yes?

Think maybe the aliens will show themselves when we finally have a unified world govt?

You also realize the BibleCodeDigest.com graphics and explanations about the skeptics/believers’ experiment conclusively proving the validity—those graphics as well as the referenced papers are more than impressive—you think to any fair-minded person.

“However, I hope, if you have children and a spouse, that for their sakes you wake up.”

I have...and I keep people like you very far away from them...by court order if ncessary...

Dude, relax. I think we're on the same page here. Let me explain...

I DO believe Zero is evil.

I DO believe he is trying to destroy the United States.

I DO believe he would not hesitate to use the military against us.

Etc.....

I don't need some souped up, lying article like was posted here to prove it to me.

The gun owning American public is the biggest military force on the planet.

Why should we make the mistake of fighting the current revolution with the tools & tactics of prior conflicts? The biggest crime is not that it's illegal to advocate treason & sedition, but because it's ineffective.

If you really want to win this thing, there's 3 things we need to do:
1. The first thing you need to recognize that, yes indeed, we are in a revolution;
2. Secondly, if that's the case, then we need to assess what our enemy's greatest strengths are;
3. Lastly, we need to (a) identify how to weaken those advantages, and then (b) execute a coordinated effort to disable them.

The central government's two greatest strengths are its ability to fund its operations via taxation and credit finance. I reject calls by tax rebels who foolishly advocate breaking the law (which once again merely plays to the government's advantages ie state power and force of law).

So that leaves us with credit markets; that is Treasuries. The ability of .gov to issue debt is based on the perception that it will be repaid. The foundation of that expectation is that future tax receipts will be sufficient to pay accrued interest costs.

OK, so let's get to the crux of the issue: we are funding the very agents of our oppression. But if we were to act in a collaborative fashion to slow the economy down via an incredibly simple yet profoundly effective tactic of "save more, spend less", we would act towards starving the beast by cratering its tax receipts.

Once you do that, .gov has only one recourse - the credit markets. But as the margin expands between the money it has from tax revenues and the money it needs to lend to cover the operating deficits, that cost becomes so expensive that at some point it breaks.

That's where we have them, because then they are either forced to make real budget cutbacks, or they hand off to the Fed to print money. That creates inflation, and does the same job of killing the welfare state since spending cannot possibly keep up with ever escalating prices of goods. (Think of a dog chasing its tail.)

We have a perfectly legal, moral AND effective way of winning this thing. The productive minority, at the end of the day, holds the purse strings. If you continue to donate to Hussein via living a life style based on credit expansion and consumption, don't blame anyone else when .gov has enough money to pull off both health care and energy (cap & trade).

You will only have done it to yourself. So start today vowing to "save more, spend less". Future Americans will thank you for preserving their freedoms and country.

Doesn’t Uncle own most of the equipment the Guard uses

Most of it, yes. This might be an exception. But even if Uncle owns it, it could still be a local buy. 55 sets sounds about right for local unit to be buying.

Under $25K, they could have bought it with a government credit card.
