It is now amazing that you can get a specific breed for many dogs through the rescues groups.

My Lola always says I am supposed to say she “came from the Doggie Orphanage” , not the other word ( shelter). Kids especially understand that when i tell them she was “adopted’..its a great lesson for them to hear.

My mutt came from a specific breed rescue organization, even though he’s not that breed.

I wanted a lab for many reason, but rpimarily because they like to retrieve and they love the water. My dog has neither of those characteristcs, but I’ll definitely keep him around anyway! He’s been my best friend through some tough times. I can tell him anything, and he never blabs. Plus he’s damn smart, and I managed to teach him a ton of tricks, including yawning on command.
