The stimulus bill according to Barbara Boxer

Today I received unsolicited email from Barbara Boxer listing some of the items on “the stimulus bill”. Couple of items surprised me:

1. If you receive Social Security benefits, or SSI, you will likely receive a one-time payment of $250.

2. If your neighborhood has foreclosed and abandoned houses, funds are provided to help local governments buy up and improve homes and make them available to renters or future buyers.

Why do people on SS need additional $250 and are local governments going to won overpriced neighborhoods to be rented to low income renters ??

There is no end to “the stimulus bill” spending, ones they start spending they don't know how to stop.

All these nice hopey changey things you're bragging on are still being paid for by money stolen from the taxpayers and being doled out to increase the size of government dependence. Dumping more money down the rat hole of government liberal indoctrination centers so you can prop up your teachers union base. All window dressing and no substance. Government doesn't create wealth or prosperity, it's an evil leech sucking the life out of the engine of prosperity, which is private sector capitalism.

yeah. Part of Osama’s tax package gave “tax rebates” of $250 for folks on SS and (I think) disabled Vets.

The program to buy up foreclosed houses is one that bears watching. I would strongly suggest that people contact their local officials to find out if they plan on getting funds to do this. You could find yourself surrounded by Section 8 housing.
