Prayers for you and yours Peter. The Monkees were one of my final tastes of fun and innocence. Thank you for being a part of that.
I hope you don’t need to “buy you a dog, cause you need a friend now” Bad paraphrase, sorry!

Latest word is that Peter is out of surgery and everything went well.

Hard to believe he’s 68, but then it’s hard for me to believe that I’ll be 48 in less than two weeks.

I loved The Monkees as a little kid in the ‘60s, and I love ‘em today.

Look for the episode guest-starring Rose Marie where she plays “Mr. Big” and sings “Everybody Loves My Baby.”

My uncle was diagnosed with this in his late 70's and was treated with radiation and surgery. He beat it and lived to be 92.

His only lasting effect was he didn't ever again have to shave on the left side of his face after the radiation treatments.

Good luck to Mr. Tork.

I'm glad he is doing well.

Wow I was so crazy for the Monkees. I would sit on the floor inches away from the tv screen and it was a sacred time. I also loved the cool Yardly commercials during the show. I had their guitar symbol drawn all over my school folders. The Monkees were the one and only musical entity I ever went ga ga over. To this day I sometimes apply their theme to what is going on. Such as, “Here we come, walkin’ down the street. Hey Hey we're the people going to the park.” You'd be surprised how many out-of-it dweebs just don't get me.

The Monkees overcame the early groans as TV’s Beatle knock off very quickly because they proved to be so full of fun, so nice, and their songs so positive and appealing that even the hard core embraced them.

You are right about how quickly and easily they became the background music for so much of daily life.

I have been a fan since shortly after they started, and I still enjoy their music.

A number of Monkee songs were written by some of the Tin Pan Alley greats like Neal Diamond.

Check the discography and you'll be suprised at some of the names you'll find getting writing credits.

All the same, I also loved the Monkees. They were one of a kind.

Prayers up for Mr. Tork's speedy and complete recovery.

I would sit on the floor inches away from the tv screen and it was a sacred time.

My parents used to get on my case as a kid for sitting so close to the tv.

Now I sit in front of a computer monitor for 8 hours a day at work and don't even get to go to the kitchen for snacks or to make a phone call or play...
