NPD is serious. I don’t have much of a sense of humor about it. And my hunch is, whatever O’Bummer’s problem is, NPD ain’t it.

Sorry. Banished to dial-up land. YouTube deprived. SO my objections are, what, methodological? Is that the word I want? Certainly he’s got the family background to suffer from NPD, but lots of kids from broken homes do well without having personality disorders.
I think to pick up on NPD one has to see or be a part of a bunch of interactions. Thinking one is the bees-knees and liking to push others around can come from a lot of problems.
I remember not liking the diagnoses of Dubya that were floating around the left. So I’m hostile to diagnoses of the Dear Leader floating around the right. (Mind you, diagnosing those who think he’s just FABulous, hey, I wanna play!)
I think to get a real PD disorder nailed down I’d have to interact with him myself or, at least, observe his interactions with his family.
Just spitballing: maybe when things start breaking up for him and the spell he is currently casting dissolves and his ratings fall well below 50% then maybe we might be able to read something from the way he handles the stress.
When the reflection he sees in the adoring faces is no longer there, if he then tries to wring pain from the crowd, I’ll be more open to the diagnosis. My rule of thumb for NPD is the sufferer depends on a reflection from others. When the relflection is nice, that’s great. But anguish and anger are better than no reflection at all, which is why NPD is popularly confused with sadism.
Can you summarize what the video says? Even though I disapprove of long-range psychiatry, I’d be interested.

How about when he stuck his nose in the air during one of the prayers at the inauguration at the mere mention of humility? He kept his head bowed until that moment.
