I agree about Coulter. She is after Steyn probably my favorite these days. I agree she does like to rattle some people’s cages. Some of her cage rattling, I might have passed on.

I must differ with you about manners and cconservative. Conservative is about maximizing freedom which requires limiting government. You can be mannerly and be liberal, conservative or neutral. Manners are about being nice to others. Sometimes in political discourse you dont want to be nice to others. That does no change your political philosophy. A nice leftist is still a leftist, being mannerly does not make them conservative.

Most people, if they were brought up in a traditional home, were raised to be decent, which includes manners. From that standpoint, I view manners as conservative. And from what I've observed, fewer liberals today than conservatives, raise their children with manners.

Is political discourse a little more rough and tumble? Yes. But we shouldn't throw civility entirely out the window. There is too much animosity without it.

However, if someone is rude to me in a political discussion, they very well might, get it right back. : )
