I am not trying to be an alarmist, but I am worried about a lot of things. I just have to imagine what the chain reaction of the current downhill slide of the worlds economies can bring. Heres what I imagine can happen in years to come:
Pensions will go bankrupt or be a shadow of what they were before, causing millions of retirees to be broke and maybe even hungry, with no recourse. Stocks and gold will probably cross at about 3,000. Robberies of banks and citizens will increase many fold, and make the streets of big cities dangerous. The danger will cause movie theatres, night clubs and restaurants to do poor business because of citizen fears of venturing out at night. Cars not in garages or in some way protected, will be subject to theft, break ins or stolen tires and parts, especially in big cities.
------------
The big cities, with their large numbers of out of work minorities, will become extremely dangerous places to live, and there will be an exodus to safer, small towns, by those who are able, even if it means selling a big city home at a sacrifice price, just to be safe. The infrastructure and utility providers in big cities may become insolvent or fraught with vandalism. Out of work minorities wont be able to pay utility bills. Without electricity, gas, or water, even for a short time, life can be extremely difficult, and especially in a high-rise building or multi-storey apartment.
Tnx for the link... pray we all don’t have to experience what he has...
Good grief... that’s 1 to almost 2 months! They are a good, reliable outfit, BTW.
My understanding is all were in the early 30's. The only one really involved in prohibition was Capone and he actually was in business prior to the Depression. Even he stayed in business during the Depression and actually ran soup kitchens in Chicago for out of work people. All the others were basically bank robbers although they would hit stores for quick cash.
Cool! ... How soon can it happen?
The three minimum things that even a devastated federal government can do is provide housing, which they have, and provide food, which to a great extent they control, and to keep order.
But this is a bare minimum. The individual States can contribute by producing scrip currency (CA and KS are doing this right now, in a basic way). This keeps State and local government, and commerce flowing, even if the national currency has become unstable.
This gives an opening for small scale producers and entrepreneurs to get the market functioning again. And small business employs more people than big business, so it starts to build momentum.
Many jobs just have their pay downgraded to local levels, such as doctors, school teachers, policemen, firemen, etc. They don’t ever face unemployment, because they can’t, even if they work for room and board.

When people don’t have jobs, and their savings have been removed, and the market has lost 80% of its value, then what do entrepreneurs use as capital to start that business. The Great Depression proved you can’t make anything out of dust, or the air.
Small businesses cannot borrow money to stay in business and keep their employees. The numbers are growing fast in unemployment....unless Obama stops being stubborn and recalls this unrealistic stimulus, budget and makes the right decisions this economy will not wait.
The government can’t exist without taxes, and if people don’t make paychecks they can’t pay anyone. It’s a codependent economy. Wall Street is Main street, and the two cannot be seperated...you hit one hard, and the other is hit hard. We are just beginning to see this downward spiral because the free market system cannot work in this socialist environment, where it is handcuffed by government.
Pumping money into this might give a bump, but the crash later would be even harder than now...but any bump up will be temporary unless handled correctly.
I recently purchased from Honeyville, I’ve heard great things about them. Their all backlogged... people are scared.

Commando robbery in a gated neighborhood in Monte Grande
It occurred yester at 2:30 AM.
8 bad guys, all of them well armed, 2 backup vehicles waiting outside.
The private neighborhood has its own security but they captured the 2 patrolling guards as soon as they breached the perimeter wire fence.
The alarms, private security, and closed circuit video cameras didn’t prevent anything either.
The bad guys kept communications through radio with each other at all times. They robbed 3 homes, and the operation lasted 40 minutes.
They tied everyone up, threatened the family members, including the kids. The objective: money, they insisted that they wanted money but end up taking also jewelry and cameras.
Just thought Id mention it. Specially for those Oh, Ill just pump ma old shotgun and that all sendem yall running n scared types.}
To me this certainly sounds like a sernerio which could and most likely would be repeated here should the US under go an Argentina style ecomonic colapse.
I found this website yesterday .. it has a great thread on survival stuff.
www.ar15armory.com
I am not surprised. What idiots!
Fortunately there are many deer, turkeys, squirrels, and rabbits in the woods here in the country.

But not for long.
only fools believe this scenario is impossible...
Go ahead, put your head in the sand, hide under the covers.
Or a boy scout.
They’ll have UN troops to run it. Obama would ask for UN troops in a heartbeat. To quell the domestic terrorists within. No question.
Crossbows, swords, knives, batons. Tell him he’ll be doing a lot of hand to hand combat, hope he’s up for it.
I read this or a similar formula many times on many threads. The problem I have with it is that very few suburban homes are defensible positions against any threat greater than one assailant with a gun, and that's if someone is awake. Concrete walls and steel shutters just aren't going to please one's neighbors between now and when the big trouble begins. Any suggestions/comments.
Yes, all the more reason to find a couple other guys in the neighborhood of like mind and develop contingency plans of your own. If you don’t have anywhere to go to, you’ll need to because it will be very difficult to deal with larger groups that outnumber you.
Just move to a rural state where the neighbors look out for one another.
