Matthew 5:14-16

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Right, every thread. Frankly, it’s getting very tiresome, not only to LDS here, but I’ve seen many Non-LDS express similar frustration.

Every. Single. Thread.

There was a recent thread about self reliance that espoused some of the best conservative principles. Yet, because the author was LDS, the usual suspects showed up and turned it into the usual hatefest and it had nothing to do with the actual topic of the thread.

Ephesians 4:29 - Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

It cuts both ways.
The anti posters have been advised many times to keep the theological debate on “open” threads in the Religion Forum where it belongs.

And the thin-skinned posters have been advised many times to stay away from “open” threads on the Religion Forum.

But there are some on both sides who ignore the moderators and are drawn like moths to a flame. If they get burnt they have no one else to blame.

****

Thank you but I tried to use “closed” and it was removed for LDS news items so my choice was denied.

I am also very confused even by mixed messages on this forum.

always a good plan. when you run out of reasonable argument, just invent an imaginary position for your argumenter, and argue with that! much more fun than addressing the actual points raised!

And what point is that? That some FReepers are bawling about the headline to an article in some obscure newspaper? About some wheelchairs being donated to some kids in Iraq?

The Religion Mod didn’t remove the ‘closed’ thread yesterday from religion, I did because the thread had nothing to do with religion, it was a news item and I moved it to news. The ‘Closed’, ‘Caucus’, etc are religion forum terms. Just because some member happened to be a member of X, Y, or church doesn’t automatically make a thread religion. It was about a couple of brave young men saving someone from a fire.

Of course, wasn't that clear in the article, or did you even bother to read it, or are you just hear baiting again?

The LDS, as has already been posted, has donated over 300,000 wheelchairs in over 100 countries over the last decade. The 20,000 here for Iraq is good, but there is much more to be done.

I have observed this and frankly find it appalling.

Here's one non-LDS who finds the whole phenomenon shameful and exasperating.

Count me in with that.. pretty sad, this is a great charity that is doing a lot, but if some average joe happened to google it to see if it is worth donating to, it would look like some fringe outfit and they would steer clear.

Perhaps such deprecation serves as the motive for some.

There's something sinister about such things.
