I recently ordered a gun (long rifle). Went down to pick it up today and was turned down. Puzzled - I purchased a new hand gun in December 08. Any thoughts??

just in case you are still reading this thread, i drove the six miles to the county clerks office this morning to get an application for a background check, then drove three miles to the next town where the Sheriff's office is, they ran my background check after which i drove back the three miles to the CC's office to pick up a Purchase Permit so i could drive the three miles again to the gun shop all in less than an hour. so the system still works.
