Safari 4.0 Beta Free Downloads for Mac Tiger, Leopard, and Windows.

Windows Native Look and Feel
If you’re using Safari on a PC with Windows Vista or Windows XP, you’ll feel right at home.
That’s because Safari features a native look — just like other Windows applications — including
a native title bar, borders, and toolbars. To provide a consistent Windows experience, Safari
now uses Windows standard fonts, but you can choose to use Apple’s crisp anti-aliased
fonts if you prefer. Of course, Safari in Windows delivers the same lightning-fast performance
provided by the Mac version.

Tabs on Top
Tabs offer a great way to have multiple pages open at the same time in a single browser window. And to
switch back and forth with a click. Now Safari takes tabbed browsing to new heights — to the very top
of the browser window — instantly providing more room for you to enjoy the sites you’re reading.

Safari also makes it easy to create and manage tabs. To create a new tab, just click the + button in the
upper-right corner of the Safari window. Want to rearrange tabs? Simply drag a tab by its handle and
drop it in a new location in the tab bar. You can also use the handle to drop a tab into another Safari
window. Or quickly create a new window by dragging the tab out to the desktop. You can create a
bookmark from a group of tabs. Or even tell Safari to open a set of tabs every time you open a
new Safari window.

Safari looks prettier but I prefer Firefox. It’s like Safari is slutty Megan Fox and Firefox is good ol’ Sarah Michelle Gellar, but with bigger boobs.

This beta is really nice. REALLY nice. With a functioning auto-updating rules-based Adblock now available for Safari, the only thing keeping me from using Safari over Firefox is the total lack of NoScript or an equivalent alternative.

What's the point?

We don't "need" another browser. Firefox can be customized to suit anyone with add-ons and plug-ins and it's plenty fast. Add the IE tab plug-in and you can open Explorer only pages inside Firefox

Opera is probably the fastest of all and is my choice for smartphone browsing.

Safari=Ho Hum.

I’m using it now. It’s definitely faster, and I like the top sites tab. The only thing I haven’t found is a way to change the default search engine from Google. The tabs on top feature is “eh, just a change to make a change,” but doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t feel like a Beta release at all. Very stable and smooth.

Sounds nice, but Firefox still does what I want it to do on my Mac, so it’s going to take a lot to convert me. In the mean time, Firefox 3.1 is looking very good, making the hurdle for Safari even higher.

Speed might be what does it.

I have Windows XP - any feedback running Safari4 and why I should “upgrade” from IE7? (everything stable but more speed is always helpful)

Do you know if there is a way to make Safari default to opening links in a new tab instead of a new window? That is my only beef with Safari.
