I’m happy to disagree. I feel Hollywood in it’s century long history has remarkable gems and has mostly been all-American.
Ill; fight liberalism in film, but movies have been am American hit all over the world. I’m so glad American’s own the genre, not someone else.
Yeah, let’s disagree.
I agree. American cinema is one of our greatest cultural achievements. People need to grab their culture by the throat not sit home and whine. Do research about what the good films are and support them. The alternative is what we have now. Juvenile tripe rules the roost and anything that's vaguely adult is called an ‘Art Film’.
According to Peter Bogdanovich himself, who has been a better film historian than directory (arguably), the golden age of America Cinema was 1912-1972, roughly. I agree. What you are voting for, so to speak, is Hollywood's distant past and not its presence or foreseeable future.
In fact, what seems to about to replace Hollywood is Bollywood, that is now producing wholesome, if often silly entertainment, with intelligent, educated, articulate actors and directors, who along with that industry will grow. Hollywood is in the sewer!
