Boy, 11, charged with killing pregnant woman The victim — 8 months pregnant — was found shot in her farmhouse
Feb. 21, 2009 WAMPUM, Pa. - Police in western Pennsylvania say an 11-year-old boy has been charged in the death of a pregnant woman who was found shot in a bedroom of her farmhouse.
Police say the boy is charged with criminal homicide and criminal homicide of an unborn child in the killing of 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk. The victim was 8 months pregnant.
Lawrence County police issued a statement saying the boy had been arraigned and sent to the county Jail.

The article is kinda slim in anything that would give an understanding of what was going on that caused such a thing to happen. It’s just a statement that the boy did it, and that’s about it.
It’s kinda hard to even say if one actually believes that the boy did it, because no one would have any idea, one way or another, from what they’ve supplied.

An eleven year old can be charged as an adult? While he shouldn’t get any perks for being so young, I would hope they’d place him in a juvenile facility if it came down to that.

I find it so jarring that someone can be both so charming and at the same time so murderous to the point of actually killing someone, much less a pregnant woman.

Isn’t criminal homicide of an unborn child a fancy term for abortion?
That's the problem with juvie for such violent kids. Do you want him living in your neighborhood when he's released at 18 or 21, angry, institutionalized and physically grown? Yeah, me neither.
At 11 I knew murdering pregnant women was wrong. I'm gonna say he'd beyond rehabilitation. On the same token, do we incarcerate him for the next 60 or 70 years? What can we do with kids like these?

There sure needs to be some consistency for the age of accountability in various things. For voting, it’s 18. For drinking (in some places), it’s 21. For contracts, it’s 18. For sex with others of your age, it’s somewhat lower than 18, but with an adult, it’s 18. For killing someone, it seems to be any age at all; they would probably go down to 8 or 9 years old.
Now, I would prefer that all ages match up to something “legal” for all these things. It just seems very *contrived* to have different ages for different things.
Thanks..., that does supply a few more details and “rounds out” the story somewhat. Of course, the big thing that is missing here is what caused this to happen. Because of “still missing information” it still seems somewhat strange and questionable, as to what happened.

Nothing says American like the name Jordan Brown.
That's because he is under the age of 18. They never release the names of minors.
Well in my opinion they should sentence him to death, and at midnight on his 18th birth day kill him.
Basically, if a pregnant woman wants her child and it’s killed, it’s ‘criminal homicide of an unborn child’. If a pregnant woman doesn’t want her child and it’s killed, it’s her exercising her ‘right to choose’. Isn’t our legal system wonderful? /s
