What type of person is so desperate for fame that he would even want be on one of these reality shows? There are two reasons people go on these shows:
1. They're given $50K for a week's work, and have the opportunity to go stay someplace else--in the case of the downmarket half of the equation, they can go stay in relatively ritzy surroundings for a week and have some fun if they can put up with the strange kids and husband.
2. If they're already in a good financial position, they sometimes seem to think that they can spread their superior wisdom and do the ordinary people some good. It's a chance to show off how smart and successful they are. While pocketing $50K for a week's aggravation, of course.

Right on the nose. Is anyone who has read a book, much less graduated college impressed by his smarmy putdowns of this poor mom? Geez, ANYONE could have done that!!
And I doubt his supposed intellectual English peers are impressed by his appearance on this "Jerry Springer" type show. No doubt they cringed at his behavior as much as the American mom's. They expect that of an crass American. Not by one of the Queen's finest!
I imagine he was run out of Britain because the elite there demand more than an English accent,(duh), an anti American attitude (required anyway)and recite a few choice words cribbed from the Oxford English dictionary. In other words his fits perfectly in Nancy Pelosi's home town.
This faux intellectual impresses me not.

Some people like adventures, some people like a breaks in the routine.
If someone is comfortable with themselves and their home and then are offered $50,000.00 for a week or two of filming in their home, then many people would see that as a hoot, and it gives them some great family video, and many of them learn something about themselves during that week.
It is OK to step out of the comfort zone occasionally, especially for 50 grand of free money.

Don’t know but any show where a husband realizes how much he loves and misses his wife when the swap proceeds can’t be all that bad.
