I have given up beer for the time being.
Cheap beer. ugh.
Just last night I was watching Mad Money and my roommate commented that he wondered how the host was staying so calm. I said he takes a lot of xanax, but that soon we’ll see him all crazy, dirty and homeless-looking pointing at charts that are about the price of Old English 40-ouncers. He’ll be telling us where to get the cheapest party liquor with our Barakutopia vouchers.
If you have the time and patience, make your own beer. Tastes pretty good, and not a single cent in taxes goes to the Feds.
lol. glad I don’t drink
for the daytona 500 last weekend i went to my local bar and had $2 cans of busch all day. it was great. made a nice little pyramid.
My discount grocer gets unadvertised, unknown beer brands from all over the planet, including Down Under, Deutschland, Nicaragua, Peru, selling them for $3.99 - $4.99 a sixpack. Some are veddy, veddy gut! Beat that!
That last picture is the single best cardboard Galactus hat I’ve ever seen or ever WOULD expect to see!
My current favorite beer: Highland Gaelic Ale, from Asheville NC. $8/6-pack.
What’s in my beer fridge: Michelob Amber Bock, Ultra Amber, and one more Dunkelweisse that we’re going to use in bread. I think I’m going to post a new thread to discuss this...
I brew my own and keg so my per beer cost is pretty cheap. Even with the price of grain and hops increasing over the past couple of year, my per bottle cost is around $0.50.
Of course that doesn’t count in my time for each batch, just raw materials but it’s worth it to drink superior beer. I’d rather drink water than to drink Bud, PBR, Miller, etc.
