Smithwicks is better. :^)I'll try it (but I'm skeptical...tough to argue with a classic :0)

It’s an Irish ale. I drink Guinness but the past couple of years I’ve replaced it, though not entirely, with Smithwick’s.

Mmm good! I discovered Smithwick's on a trip to Ireland a few years back.
... and a few year back that's the only place you could get it.
Now you can get it at pretty much any decently stocked bar or liquor store.
Who says things are getting worse in America?

That last picture is the single best cardboard Galactus hat I’ve ever seen or ever WOULD expect to see!
My current favorite beer: Highland Gaelic Ale, from Asheville NC. $8/6-pack.
What’s in my beer fridge: Michelob Amber Bock, Ultra Amber, and one more Dunkelweisse that we’re going to use in bread. I think I’m going to post a new thread to discuss this...

I brew my own and keg so my per beer cost is pretty cheap. Even with the price of grain and hops increasing over the past couple of year, my per bottle cost is around $0.50.
Of course that doesn’t count in my time for each batch, just raw materials but it’s worth it to drink superior beer. I’d rather drink water than to drink Bud, PBR, Miller, etc.

The Highland was great when I was in NC last fall! I did run into a problem while trying to buy some Carolina beers at the end of our trip, I had to wait until noon to buy it on a Sunday, even though I wasn't planning on drinking it until later...
Life is too short to drink crap beer. Cheaper liquor is another thing, most all tequilla, rum, gin, and vodka gets mixed with other things that provide the predominant flavors of the cocktails they're used in. Beer stands alone on its own in taste.
