Bertha Lewis, ACORN Chief Organizer on Cavuto

Posted on 02/19/2009 1:21:09 PM PST by jla

ACORN is on the march! Urging civil disobedience to homeowners facing eviction. This woman spewed lie after lie in response to Cavuto's questions. Lewis wishes to give the impression that these homeowners are merely decent, hardworking, honest people, many living in their homes for over thirty years, and the rapacious capitalist now want their property.
Lewis placed no responsibility on the homeowners, despite their signing on the dotted line to get their mortgages.
Carter created the Community Reinvestment trough and Clinton later expanded access to it. Now, after society's parasites are having their feeding interrupted they are getting testy.
I am surprised Obama has not yet demanded that 'Mortgage Stamps' be generated and passed out to the lazy and irresponsible amongst us.

Well if they were in there homes over thirty years, wouldn’t the houses be paid off by now?

Something isn’t right about all this quacking.

Wonder if I could “squat” in her house - wonder how she would feel about that?

It's even more ridiculous. I just saw the segment and she mentioned people who have owned their homes for 38 (!) years and who now can't make their payments.

What the...?!

Maybe it was an equity mortgage for dummies. Key word dummies.

When you refinance to buy rims, your house is probably not paid off.

Lewis knew this was a lie, she only said it to give the appearance that 'ma and pa Kettle' were being evicted by the evil banker.
Cavuto was being polite and asked Lewis if it was not true that many of these people have not lived in their homes for anywhere near that duration of time. Lewis would have none of this! Facts be damned in the fight for 'free housing'!

I was listening to NPR on the drive to work the other morn. They played the audio of a meeting in Arizona, (I believe it was Mesa), of a lady from the gov't giving a class on budgeting to people having a difficult time now that they are having problems paying the mortgages on their homes. (Homes they of course could not afford in the first place)
The lady from gov't agency spoke to them as if they were school children, and I do not exaggerate one iota here. It was akin to parents having a talk with their teenagers on responsibility after the latter got their first jobs.

This situation will only worsen as President Scatterbrain will not abandon the ACORN-types, who have absolutely no sense of thrift, responsibility or scruples. All they want is their homes at the expense of the decent, hard-working Americans.

Thanks for the information ... Arguing with idiots can have delirious affects on your own IQ, it’s best to be avoided. I wonder if anyone has video, it would make a good teaching moment in idiocy.

In Kenya, the people would probably lick their boots. In America, people know they are idiots.

And Cavuto gave her a free pass when she blamed banks, et al for making subprime loans. Not once did he say “Bertha, didn’t ACORN force banks to make those loans?”

Yes, and unfortunately the laugh is on us. President Scatterbrain will set race relations back seventy years.

They took out equity loans to buy a boat, 30' wide HDTV, lavish vacations, an RV and now you get to pay it off for them.

To post 12 - Yes, but Neil has to get in those questions he can within the time constraints allotted for the segment. In his defense he has often commented on the Community Reinvestment Act and the fact that Clinton's policy was to threaten banks with ‘investigations’ if they showed any resistance to making these sub-prime, or better called, ‘shakedown’, loans.

I saw this segment. But now I’m a little confused. Didn’t it come out before the election that ACORN had had a habit of forcing banks to make loans they didn’t want to make by protesting inside their lobbies and disrupting their businesses?

I mean, is this all you have to do — stomp your feet and throw a tantrum and — voilà! — someone else has to suck it up so you can have something you can’t pay for?

“I mean, is this all you have to do - stomp your feet and throw a tantrum....”

Well, if you are black, you’ve gotten away with it for about 40 years now, and no one is ever willing to stand up to it, so yeah.

So maybe we really are cowards.

The lice cut negress failed to note the demonstration was paid for by the tax payers with funds from the porkulus bill.

I found her quite offensive
