There has much been said about America and Europe in recent years, regarding the benefits of uncontrolled immigration. When times were good, the flood of non-European refugees was touted as a refreshing reminder of the survival character that both Europe and Northern America (products of European culture) should embrace as some sort of cultural cathartic solidarityakin to the one that their own forefathers experienced when, they too, migrated throughout greatfamiliarity of cultural solidarity and European-based national identity. But, in reality, there was nothing farther from the truth. And, now, the once-brave Western societies now sit in utter and fearful hopelessness, overtaken by dissimilar tribes who nowstill desiring economic advantagehave little interest for continuity in the cultural obligations of the nations they are erroneously welcomed by.
The losses of two world wars arguably clouded Western pride in itself and cast an unwanted shadow over her children that now await an uncertain and precarious future. Two European-generated world wars in which, conservatively, 70 million plus died (six million during WWI and 60 million in WWII) have been the rationale for diluting European culture to the point that its own modern citizens can barely capture any sense of ethnic pride, let alone, recognize themselves, anymore.
Americans and Western Europeans now sit at home wondering as to what sort of cultural order their own children will be left once the unwanted legacies of the previous conflicts are long and gone. Unfortunately, they have much to fear. Just ask the statistics whose own realities shed the light on the rationale in actually making the argument.
Now, after some fifty years of eradicating European war-making, ostensibly, through cultural dilution and free immigration, Western society now stands on the brink of self-imposed eradication. Was this what the United Nations intended by cultural self-determination? Of course not.

But, with recent economic turbulence, perhaps it is the long-awaited opportunity for Western culture to pull itself out of the abyss. It is time to get the American and European houses in order. It is time to say enough is enoughthe current global economic downturn the rationale to finally deal with the deferred reality created from previously and easily-financed denial.
Make no mistake; this editorial has nothing to do with racialism. If anything, the objectors of such comment have more to do with racial politics than anything put forward in this piece. This is about reality and allowing European Americans to finally discuss the cultural fears that have been irresponsibly ignored by the representatives that have served them in national government. This is about throwing down the gauntlet and allowing people to assert what they have been conditioned not to feel. This is about prompting tough, uncomfortable questions, and allowing dialogue to supplant cultural paralysis. This is about a time where it is now appropriate to break free and open the debate.
And, while the economic downturn is seen to many as curse, perhaps, it will ultimately be the moment when national identity is finally allowed its turn to permit the deferred and dirty-little discussion that no one wanted to talk about when the getting was good.
