I know there are two issues here. One, what does the Constitution mean by ‘natural born.’ You would think that was pretty easy, but we can't even enforce the part that says Congress shall make no law, or shall not be infringed, etc.
The second issue is where was Obama actually born? And for all we know he might not even be old enough to hold the office.
Mr. Keyes is right on with his belief that this is an important case and deserves to be treated as such by the courts.
Can you imagine the ruckus it would cause it it turned out Obama is not qualified? There's not enough popcorn to handle that outcome.

I don’t think that Obama was born overseas—it just seems too illogical to assume his parents would have thought to concoct that kind of story back then. And there is the supposedly contemporaneous announcement from the Honolulu paper of his birth.
But I do think there is something strange that the Obama camp isn’t talking about. I find it odd that he won’t just reveal an original copy of his birth certificate. I used to think it was because it revealed that his parents were never married, but then their divorce papers surfaced and Obama is quite open about the fact that his mother was pregnant at the time of her marriage and everyone knows Obama Sr. was already married in Africa.
Now I’m thinking perhaps the birth certificate notes a place for the child’s religion, and it reads Muslim. Not that it makes him a Muslim now, but it’s pretty clear that his stepfather adopted him and considered him a Muslim and made him an Indonesian citizen. I think all that together was just too much to foist on the American public before the election.

It’s not just the birth certificate, it’s virtually ALL of his records, from one end of his life to the other.

As of that time, SOS was on notice and had a duty to act. Ms. Taitz had a subsequent conversation with the election analyst of SOS Office, Ms. Philly Crosby. Ms. Taitz requested an administrative hearing on the matter in question. Ms. Crosby stated that she would discuss the matter with Ms. Bowen and SOS’ General Counsel, Ms. Pam Giarizzo, and that Ms. Giarizzo would telephone Ms. Taitz to discuss the issue. Ms. Taitz followed this conversation with a second e-mail, confirming all the details of the conversation. As yet, SOS has taken no steps to request the necessary documents from Senator Obama. It appears that Ms. Bowen is intending to certify Senator Obama, and to certify his Electors, and not protect the people of the State of California by enforcing its laws. As a result of SOS declining to act pursuant to the described legal obligations, the only remedy is to request relief from the Superior Court of California.”
I do not see how the SoS can defend this. She’s required to verify eligibility. She was asked to verify Obama’s eligibility before she certified him, but she refused.
I know people want to make this out as an attack on Obama. But the SoS of California did not do her job when a written request was made. Keyes has a right to seek redress.
Sooner or later, Obama will have to cough up his original birth certificate. I believe that this will cause him to be removed from ofiice for not being eligible as a natural born American citizen.
