During the replays DW seemed to be blaming Jr. I guess he sees it your way now.
Just one that never ends.........
HOT DAMN! Matt wins! Roush Racing has its first Daytona 500 win.
You mean the pretty-boy-roundy-roundy-crashes are under way again? Now I can get back from the edge of my seat and breathe again.
“They didnt even start till 4 did they?”
Exactly the problem. If they started the race on time they would have finished 200 laps...on time.
I hate rain shortened races. It’s kind of like getting to third base, you know?
Seems there was at least 5 hours of pre-race BS today. Didn’t Daytona used to start at around noon or 1:00pm EST? (I haven’t watched regularly in a very long time).
There were like, what, 8 or 10 cars in that wreck?
The leaders couldn’t catch back up.
My goal is to keep Junior behind me, Vickers said. I went to block him. I beat him to the yellow line and then he just turned us. To wreck somebody intentionally like that in front of the entire field is really kind of dangerous. Thats my problem with it.
Vickers also wondered why NASCAR did not penalize Earnhardt for aggressive driving, particularly since it issued a five-lap penalty to Jason Leffler in Saturdays Nationwide Series race for a similar incident.” http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news?slug=ap-nascar-daytona500-accident&prov=ap&type=lgns
I don’t like Leffler but I thought NASCAR’s penalty on Saturday was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen since I started watching stock car racing 50 years ago. Five laps? What’s up with that? I just didn’t see any “agressive driving.” What happened today was “just racing.” Vickers was dumb to try to block the 88 and the 88 should have made sure he was clear before he tried to get back into line.
I was thinking the same thing. I loved when these races started at 1PM. Right about the time I was getting home from church the race would be starting. Perfect timing. Unfortunately, not anymore. As a result I have been watching these races a bit less than I used to.
