Patrick Swayze cut a gaunt figure when he was spotted in public for the first time in weeks. The actor, who is fighting pancreatic cancer, looked gaunt and frail as he defiantly smoked a cigarette while waiting for wife Lisa Niemi in Beverly Hills.
Once famed for his athletic body and steamy routines in the 1987 hit movie Dirty Dancing, the actor now looks a shadow of his former self.
The 56-year-old smoked several cigarettes in under 10 minutes, according to onlookers, puffing big clouds of smoke out of the truck.'He was puffing away and appeared as if he didn't have a care in the world. It's so sad,' said one.
Reports from the US suggest that he has stopped treatment for the cancer, including chemotherapy, after experiencing extreme side-effects such as excruciating dental pain making it impossible to chew food.

He is believed to have undergone dental surgery to repair his damaged gums and save his teeth.

It is your problem if you don’t want to hasten your death or really want to be cured.
Even herbal cigarettes produce carcinogen gasses.
They told him they would take the colostomy bag off when he recovered enough. I knew it was a lie. Not sure if he did.
He spent about $50,000 of his retirement on some quack remedy.

Because they actually are parasites... they feed off him, and will continue after his life has ended, just like parasites do.
This man should be let be. He is suffering a serious life threatening disease which is going to cut his life short. He is a talented actor and a couragous one at that to have finished his project during this illness. No doubt this gave him the energy and will to fight on despite all of this. No one deserves to have pictures of them at their worst splashed across the social or gossip or front pages of papers.

So you’re saying that he’ll recover from pancreatic cancer if he quits smoking, Doctor?
I knew a guy who was a scientist and biology professor. He claimed his family carried the gene to protect them from lung cancer and that he tested himself and that he carried the same gene. He smoked a couple packs a day. He died from lung cancer in his mid 50s. So much for carrying the right gene.
When you die of cancer, you really die of malnutrition ‘cause you can’t eat. Smoking probably helps with the nausea that is common to his condition. Cancer sucks.
Hey, I’m fine with a dying man using heroin if that gives him a little comfort as the end rapidly approaches.
It’s the same mentality that denies the pain-ridden terminally ill medicine for relief on the theory they will get *hooked on painkillers* — SO??!!

Nanny-stater liberals love it when smokers die of cancer. They can smugly nod with the satisfaction that they somehow deserved that wasting death.
If it were me I would have a butt in one hand and a beer in the other with middle finger up for the pictures.
I don’t think that quitting smoking at this point in his life would aid his recovery.
Nobody is saying smoking is good for you. But the surgen general has reported that 9 out of 10 people between the ages of 18 and 120 find it amazingly annoying when someone feels that they are on a mission from God to tell the world that your typical cigarette produces on average about 19 carcinogen by-products and gasses in the smoke.
That is an interesting fact though. I mean 20 carcinogen by-products is my limit. It’s a good thing it only has 19.
Fortunately Thanksgiving dinners rarely kill, but cigarettes do. Enjoy!
