Gregg Withdrawal Ignites Census Rhubarb
Pajamas Media ^ | February 14, 2009 | Jennifer Rubin

Unfortunately for the Obama administration, Judd Gregg’s withdrawal as commerce secretary has highlighted the effort by the White House to wrest control of the census (and with it, the groundwork for the 2010 Congressional reapportionment). Gregg took a second or third tier issue and vaulted it to the front pages.

Since word had broken that the White House intended to take oversight of the census out of the Commerce Department and give it to the hyper-partisan political operator Rahm Emanuel, the Republicans had worked feverishly to raise public awareness. They had hit the Sunday talk shows and written letters to the White House. Then early on Thursday top Republicans held a press conference to protest the move. Minority Leader John Boehner explained the GOP’s chagrin:

This unprecedented move would undermine the goal of a fair and accurate Census count. And it would open the door to massive waste and abuse of taxpayer funds.

Rahm has “trained professionals” ready to execute the census as well, and come up with unassailable results(No one will be deemed having standing to dispute)— The ACORN canvassers who’ve already proven so capable with voter registration.

There is no doubt Obama is trying to shake the very foundation of this country with socialism.

We are in a world of hurt with him and even these dumbass curtain wearing liberal hippies up here in Vt know it! They are even getting little a frighten at what they have done by voting for this power-hunger charlatan! Never did they expect this guy to turn into a real anti-capitalistic, secretive, arrogant prick. They never expected such because obviously they were too stupid not to inform themselves and just got caught up in the hysteria to vote for someones skin color!

The commune is coming down you will be free no longer!

I predicted weeks ago on these that the census would be conducted by Acorn volunteers across the Nutted Plain. The post scarcely garned notice.

Thank goodness for Gregg's withdrawal as it certainly raises this incredibly important issue to a higher level of scrutiny.

Bright-eyed and dewy after getting out of school, I volunteered as a census-taker. You get a list of addresses to call on and get paid by the government for how many you complete. Today, it will be dangerous work going door-to-door, especially working the deserted halls in apartment and condo buildings.

At any rate, the opportunity for Acorn volunteers to cook the books on their census rounds is a 100% cinch.

These crafty and devious plans have been simmering for decades among the leftist/commie intellectuals/operatives and are now beginning to play out. There's a "plan" for every facet of our public and private lives.....wait and see.

This is really important, but unstoppable.

If he doesnt have Ron Emmanuel running the Census he will just put another liberal of the same stench to run Commerce.

Perhaps Conyers.

Note to all the people and entitites who rely on accurate census data: What do you all suppose would happen if millions of Americans refused to co-operate with census takers...?

I suggest you have a word with Barry before our silence speaks for you.

Hey, stop dissing this perfect little patriot.

Here's Rahm saluting the American flag on inauguration day.

This bears repeating...to avoid communism forever

"Putting the census under my control will give us the raw data we need-----and who has the money we need to establish a permanent Dem majority."

Revolution is our only option.

FWIW, my family's been in this country for over 300 years, and have fought in most of our wars.

Civil disobedience is the least I owe my ancestors :)

I’ve seen a lot of that where I’m from too. They all preach anti-capitalism until they recognize it’s gone. Then they get a little freaked out when they realize that the same freedom that allows them to bark, scream and protest is the same one that flourishes under capitalism.

I think the old hippies are going to have a whole lot of waking up when they realize that communism isn’t a “Commune”. It’s being owned by the government.

While revolution does sound spiffy----we should keep in mind that several Rahm-engineered moves have already blown up in his nauseating little face.

Overreaching is this little punk's weakness.

Emanuel figured "we won" meant he could get away with murder---that America would kneel in obeisance.

That ain't happening. by a longshot.

God-fearing Black church-goers who voted for Obama are teed-off----one of the reasons Daschle is out.

God-Fearing Black church-goers who voted for Obama will be even more teed-off that this twerp Rahm Emanuel---a multi-millionaire----is not paying Chicago property (and other?) taxes---while Black families are struggling to survive.

BIG TIPOFF Obama went public to explain the screw-up---nominating tax-cheat Daschle. Obama was talking to his adoring supporters----they were expecting MUCH MUCH more from him than tarnished appointees---and 17 lobbyists who got jobs in his admin.

It was also surprising that Obama foolishly took on Rush Limbaugh-----on Rahm's orders----which highlighted "porkulus" and gave the Repubs a leg up---and the ability to define the boondoggle.

The fact that Rahm did a disappearing act, and his office was moved out of the WH, is a BIG indication Obama, himself, is not pleased with his COS.

We need to keep Obama's Black churchgoer groups informed about this Rahm jerk----it's a mistake to think they support whatever orders he inflicts on Obama.

Liz, I can appreciate your comments especially if we were dealing with normal, sane people in gov't & media. However, we are not.

The communists that control govt and media will now stop at nothing to expand their control and further immerse America deeper into communism and creating slaves dependent on govt.

Too late for protests and talking.

Then they'd be even more under-represented on government benefits then they already are, while the tax-load on them would continue unabated.

When it comes to apportionment and gerrymandering, we’re already screwed. But that’s the least of it. Do you have any idea how big a part census data plays in our economy? Trust me, if folks refused to co-operate with the census, that would send a very big message.
