I need some Freep help. I was at my FRiend's house last night and browsing Free Republic while logged in on his account, and I noticed a lot of articles appearing that I have never seen before. I logged in and checked all my account and message block display settings and noticed I do not have the option for "Humor" in my message block settings and I have been able to see any humor messages before. The only way I can see them is if I know the thread name and search for a keyword in the title, ie: "Silliness".
Is there a way to fix my account and get it to show me ALL the messages posted to FR? I had always assumed that I was seeing all messages when I clock on the "Forum" link at the top of the page and am taken to the "Latest articles" page. Do these "Latest Articles" not include everything from each of the browsable forums?
Thanks or your help.
Yes, there is definitely a difference between clicking on the “Forums” link at the top of the page and clicking on “Everything” in the forums list. This looks like a bug to me. That means thousands of FReepers are missing out on a lot of content.
And...its important to use the “Articles” and the “Activity” tabs to keep up with everything as it happens while browsing. Its easy to lose track of articles if you haven’t pinged them and are only using the “Articles” tab.
Yes, same Forums list here...I think the Browse by Forum block is like that by default.
I haven’t added any Topics except my state’s News. Maybe I have been missing a lot too.
I would wonder if all of the Topics under a Forum are included or not without adding them to the ‘Manage Blocks’ page?
I’d been here a couple of years when I found out how the ‘Add To My Page’ link works. I’ll bet a lot of people have not noticed it or know about it.
I thought that the ‘Forum’ and ‘Everything’ links were the same, because they both have the same address:
http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/*/index
Yes, I try to read as many as I can...it takes time.
By the way, can you tell me how to do a screen capture on a Mac using the Safari browser?
Or "sarcasm".
