The US Constitution is toast with this "porkulus bill" shoved down our throats in secrecy, we are now pretty much guaranteed that our Republic is gone. It's been coming for some time, as many of us have been warning. The Utopians in Congress and the Obama Branch have done so much harm to our Republic in these first few weeks they have been in power it is now obvious that we are losing the political battle for our Nation.
History has shown that "power corrupts absolutely". However, that very axiom has also shown, once realized, that it can be the catalyst for change. Maybe, just maybe, with their absolute power they won't see my suggestion below coming at them...just give me a moment to explain.
THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MOMENT:
Those who would still fight, what recourse do you have?
Voting? How's that worked out for us so far without term-limits which would take a Constitutional Amendment?
Marches on DC? Right, like enough conservatives can get together to make a difference.
Civil disobedience? As if everyday working stiffs will risk being arrested for barging into the Congressional chambers and committees. No-load liberals spray-paint the Capitol steps and are willing to be dragged off in handcuffs - they see it as badge of honor. Joe-Six-Pac-SoccorMom wouldn't. We have families to contend with.
Rebellion by militia? Not even a consideration. The first rebels would be made an "example" by the local SWAT or National Guard units.
So you say, what then?. Well, I may have a possible answer: Here it is...
Support existing organizations and/or create a new organization with massive cash infusions to build bullet-proof LAWSUITS against the onslaught of unConstitutional legislation. Take every single oppressive unConstitutional law and regulation and executive order to COURT! Base every effort on not only the literal translation of the US Constitution, but the very INTENT of those who wrote the document! There is a plethora of correspondence between the Founding Fathers to PROVE their intent in the final creation of our Constitution.
That is our last hope. Yes, some lawsuits may not make it past the local federal courts or the appellate courts; some will. But then the USSC may accept some and not accept to review others and kick them back down to the appellates for what ever technical reason. That is why the lawsuits would have to be once again, written in bullet-proof language that is highly researched and proves the INTENT of our Founding Fathers as mentioned above.
We recently had a somewhat of a good ruling from the USSC regarding the individual right to own weapons. It wasn't perfect and should have expanded in many areas, but it was a small win. We can do the same with other obvious unConstitutional legislation.
What say you folks? Any interest in researching those orgs who have been the most successful and supporting them with dollars? Or maybe we need an entirely new legal org that is not caught up in DC politics. Personally, I believe we need a new dedicated highly professional legal entity to forward such lawsuits.
This is possibly our last and best hope for our Republic. A Constitutional Law Union (CLU), for the lack of a better name could be our ONLY hope in fighting for the last of our Republic. It could be based in part on the various Constitutional organizations that currently exist.
It would take money; high-level organizers; dedicated lawyers; high-visibility pundits; dedicated and capable volunteers, and again, a huge amount of money. But, I believe this to be doable.
Think about it. Think about how the ACLU wins so many lawsuits against our heritage and traditions. If they can do it, why can't we??? We actually have a sacred document and other historical writings on our side. THIS CONCEPT IS VIABLE. Others have layed the ground work that we can take advantage of.
Who is the one with the shortest time of you three?
The longer term Freepers have hung in through a lot of political change that has to say something.

ME!!!
Don’t Like That???
Take It Up With The Owner,,,
There are more things we can do and a working group of more "seasoned" Freepers may want to form an exclusive ping list to come up with more ideas, plans, goals.. etc.
Same page.. nice direction.. but so much more needs to happen at the same time.
Good post. Read some of mine, I think we are of the right mind direction wise concerning the odds.
One solution is to provide a work around that we offer as educational meetings about the constitution.
1. You must have an honest platform that most voters will agree with and that contains no glaring omissions. The best example that I’ve seen is behind the following link (”Falcon Party Platform, Ten Conservative Principles, etc.).
That platform favors American jobs, high morale for more voters, a strong defense and an honestly pro-Israel stance—positions that most voters by far agree with.
2. You must prevent discussion clamor against the major positions in the platform.
3. You must enrich voters who agree with that platform. That is, you must hire them and oppose/repeal laws that prevent them from competing for jobs and in markets. Most truly conservative families are being driven into poverty by employment and education systems that reject frugality and respect for traditional family structure.
4. You must honestly follow through on the platform and ignore the demands of smaller interest groups to renege on any part of it, as tempting as it may be to take money and other favors from them for doing so.
Otherwise, learn the hard way over the next two or three terms. As tempting as the bordello atmosphere in offices and special interest lobbies are, you can’t continue to focus on employing and educating only liberals and expect to get votes from conservatives.
“Some Wars Are Just!!!
Some Wars Are Needed,,,
Some Wars Must Be Fought,,,”
But only the stupid fights before the ground work is laid, the tail is ready to support the teeth.
When the time is planned and is right that is the best time.
I see our two political parties supporting a couple of narrow interest groups (government and businesses favored by government) while sharing one economic interest that’s meeting its consequences (too much third world production in exchange for debt/bribes). One of those parties has fallen from favor, and the other party is about to do the same.
In sum, the vanities and stubbornness of many brought us to where we are today. Our chance to have better government will arrive, after our various kinds of leaders discover humility by way of consequences from their vices.
What the fuck are you talking about? I did my duty 11 years Navy during end times of Nam, and many years later on the streets supporting my Country's values. You don't know me. Many on this board do.
I have probably contributed more to our Nation then you could possibly imagine, and still do. If you bother to go to the home page of this site, you will find I am the originator of the VetsCoR CD/DVD back in early 2003 (With Love and Affection). See VetsCoR on the side panel.
What? Are you some bad ass Airborne or Special Forces or SEAL? I kinda doubt that, because true SpecOps don't brag.
I'm a simple Aviation Sailor who worked his ass off every day during the cold war and had to shoot (that's none of your business). But you are all that? Please let me know how "killer" you are. Once you give me your Army or Marine specialty, then I will congratulate you.
Which specialty again?
This article I posted was never meant to hurt your self-esteem. It was about ideology. You missed the point entirely. Again, grow up and we can become friends...or not.

I ask again: were you Army Paratrooper/Ranger/Special Forces, Marine/Marine Re-Con, Navy SEAL, or maybe clandestine CIA SpecOps? I even have access to NSA clandestine forces.. You gave me shit and I told you I was a simple sailor which is easily proved, now I want YOUR bona fides. Did you even serve your country?
And don't bother to lie about your unit - I know exactly where to fine all service personnel in Army, Marine, Air Force, and Navy. Not to good on Coast Guard.
Remember, anyone can find an ISP. Be honest or I will report you to the numerous organizations that OUT all the wannabes. They love to out youse guys and some wind up doing community service.
We're already seeing the first indications. What do you think the porkulus bill was really about? The secret passage of special provisions? Don't make me laugh. Porkulus was, pure & simple, a means for the individual states to access Federal funding via Treasuries because they could NO longer sell bond issues to cover their respective operating deficits.
What does that mean in plain English? They were quickly becoming unable to pay their entitlement charges such as housing, food, health & welfare. In other words, without emergency intervention, the welfare state couldn't meet it's promised commitments to the very segment which has been paid off to support leftist politicians.
But it's only a temporary salve; these leeches will be back for more with 6-12 mos. Only by then the situation will have greatly deteriorated and there won't be any money forthcoming. Conservatives need to hold onto their horses and wait - it's the other side that's gonna make the mistake. As soon as the looter class is finally cut off, social chaos ensues. Wait, watch & act when the time is ripe.
The blue States also have an endless supply of cannon fodder. That was one of the South’s biggest problems in The War Between the States.
Home school
I agree with you somewhat. I believe the "porkulus" was more about Federal control than individual States wanting more of the pie, although the States do want more. We can agree to disagree if you're willing.
And you think that they don't control the courts?
