This isn't about jobs, it's about air superiority in the next century. Democrats seem intent on killing off the Raptor program. They are deluded into thinking it is a boondoggle or is somehow obsolete. Most of us would agree that they are very very wrong on this. In an uncertain world, one thing is certain, the F-22 can penetrate the enemies air space and destoy his air defense network. Gates has stated that he has no need for the F-22 in Iraq or afghanistan but we have just seen that hezbollah is receiving Iranian made surface to air missile batteries which makes the need for the F-22 even more critical.

Here is a link to the hated Democratic underground site where members discuss their feelings on the Raptor in a recnt thread. This has to be some of the dumbest rhetoric I have ever seen come out of this site but, the fact remains, these are the people screaming into Obama’s ear. We need to scream louder especially in matters of national defense.

No offense, but I think the stimulus package should have included that every legal citizen be given an M1 Girand (and ammo). It would only eliminate one F-22.

I was kinda lookin’ forward to our Government building a million P-51 Mustangs to go with the tens of millions of drafted soldiers for our new world war. Democrat defense policies have their positives, you know.

[Little irony and sarcasm there.]

Much has been made by Democrats that the F-22 was made to compete with Soviet fighters. They say the threat is no longer there.
Bull
Russia has not stopped developing its aircraft. They are working with other countries to develop and jointly produce fighter aircraft. Russia has long supplied Iran and other countries with weapons - what’s to keep them from selling a few there?
We don’t only have state of the art anti-aircraft missile systems to be concerned with, but state of the art fighters.
