It has been referred to as the "Jack Pot" and the "Jack Parker Invitational" because of the number of times the veteran bench boss has led Boston University to the Beanpot championship. Heading into last night's 57th quest for Boston bragging rights against Northeastern, the No. 1-ranked Terriers had 28 Beanpot crowns to their credit. Well, say hello to No. 29. The third-ranked Huskies, who have been atop the Hockey East standings for the bulk of the season, gave it their best shot - thinking this was the year they would take it away from their league rivals for their first crown since 1988 - but they fell well short as BU scored three shorthanded goals on the way to a 5-2 win at TD Banknorth Garden.

No Yorkies?
I had a Cairn Terrier once. They are great little dogs.
My grandfather always had a pair of fox terriers while I was young. Great little dogs.
My wife and I have had both Cairn and Norfolk Terriers. The Cairn was a total wild banana, and the Norfolk Terrier was the most affectionate dog I ever saw. We had the Norfolk Terrier for 15 years.
My wife and I both like animals, but she says she does not want another. But my son continues to find them. Right now he has a Australian Shepherd.
People who love dogs are better than any politician. Dogs know a phoney.
No Jack Russell Terrier, which is the smartest and bravest of the lot?
What seems a little weird to me is that these standards appear more important than the actual FUNCTION of the breed. Function should drive the standard and it doesn;t seem to do so any more.
Some breed fanciers, like people with Coonhounds actually don;t want their breed, i.e. plotts, redbones, blue ticks, treeing walkers, etc, brought into the A.K.C. arena as they feel function will be subordinated to appearance.
I had an Irish Terrier once - a great dog - fearless, game and a neat companion.

Parson Russell.
I refer to mine as a Jack Russell Terrorist.
I’m going to have to remember that. See post 11.
I love my Jack-Rat. pic at 11
Wow. Great post to a conservative sight. Conservative ankle biters, I guess.

Animals make fairly regular appearances on the FRee Republic, particularly cats and dogs. Ice Hockey, too.
Under General/Chat, as it is posted, I can’t see that anyone would object. We’re not all-politics-all-the-time: that would be bloody dull!
