An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Roger Barnett, 64, began rounding up illegal immigrants in 1998 and turning them over to the U.S. Border Patrol, he said, after they destroyed his property, killed his calves and broke into his home.
His Cross Rail Ranch near Douglas, Ariz., is known by federal and county law enforcement authorities as "the avenue of choice" for immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally.
Trial continues Monday in the federal lawsuit, which seeks $32 million in actual and punitive damages for civil rights violations, the infliction of emotional distress and other crimes. Also named are Mr. Barnett's wife, Barbara, his brother, Donald, and Larry Dever, sheriff in Cochise County, Ariz., where the Barnetts live. The civil trial is expected to continue until Friday.

This is the correct link BTW. Not sure what happened there.
This is when the 9th and 10th Amnedment states rights issues need to kick in. If the U.S. govt does not protect the border, the state should. Also any federal lawsuits for these issues under 9th and 10th amnedment should be thrown out.
WHAT A JOKE
The last time I read about something like this the rancher was bankrupted and the illegal was welcomed to his new estate in America.
Consider it an update.
5 identical posts is not an update...
Well, we know political correctness says that the American defending his land is in the wrong. Somebody sneaking into this country, and the criminal element that smuggles people, apparently have more rights than land owning law abiding citizens.
What a bunch of f**ktards. I hope the next time they try to cross someone has the sense to shoot their fannies.
U.S. Constitution, Article III, section 2, cl.1: "The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity...between a State, or the Citizens thereof, and foreign States, Citizens or Subjects."
Umm, I think BPs Ramos and Compean would have to disagree with you.
Obviously they’re not suing, MALDEF is suing on their behalf. And I suspect that Peter Schey is somehow involved in this. MALDEF can brings millions of dollars worth of resources to this lawsuit to ruin the guy. And they will. For a real eye opener, look at how much government funding MALDEF receives.
The Southwest is lost. There won’t be 50 states in 25 years.
well, shiite happens sometimes xcamel. I only posted it in the first place because I saw it over on DU and I like to run some of their topics over here sometimes for educational purposes. It’s interesting to compare our opinions on matters such as this.
