NEW YORK (AP) - ESPN reports that Alex Rodriguez admits using performance-enhancing drugs from 2001-03.

That would at least add some excitement.
I’m not, I attended the legal proceedings related to the Rose scandals.
What is shocking is nobody that writes about sports in general, or baseball in the specific, will touch this with a ten foot pole.
But its all in the trial transcripts. This has been going on for at least 30 plus years in MLB.
What I’m about to suggest is very much secondary to this story, but important nonetheless: NEVER believe anybody who says that your personal information will be kept confidential. If somebody wants to embarrass you bad enough — whether you are A-Rod or Joe-the-Plumber — you have records out there that can be dished at a strategic moment.
He’s not coming clean. He’s admitting he was dirty. Two different things.
I hope baseball is cleaned up before my son hits the majors!
Well, it's more like he's admitting he was dirty after he openly lied to Congress, the American people, and Yankee and Ranger fans across this country.
It would be cleaned up if those in charge of the game like team owners and Bud Selig himself, actually put forth the effort to clean up baseball and enforced the rules, laws, and regulations the govern the game.
*Just my opinion, but its one boring long game that needs some rule changes to speed it up.*
Then don’t watch it. If you want to watch a fast game, table tennis or even ice hockey is occasionally on ESPN.
I get a kick out of people who complain about the length of a baseball game, like they DON’T want to get their money’s worth—nope, pay 80 bucks to get in and get out in an hour, that’s their philosophy.
What's the difference between Madonna and the Panama Canal?
2 answers:
One's a busy ditch.
The Panama Canal couldn't service an aircraft carrier.
Once he signed the deal for the $252 million, we Seattle fans knew he was no good.
This just proves it.
Pay-Rod, A-Fraud, and now A-Roid.
I don’t watch. The point was people might actually treat it like the favorite sport if it weren’t so boring. I got bored playing it as a kid.
I’d watch it gladly for 3 hours if there were something to watch.
Guy throws a ball.
Option 1: Guy hits it. One guy catches it. Everyone else stands around.
Option 2: Guy misses ball. Catcher catches ball. Everyone else stands around.
And the guy gets 3 fouls, 2 strikes and 3 balls to make a hit after of course taking numerous warm up swings outside the box.
If by chance a few guys get on base it might get interesting.
I think Curling may have more action.
Different strokes for different folks. Just made on observation.
The thing about sports reporting is that all the major outlets have contracts with MLB, the NFL and the NBA. As such, reporting that damages the game is discouraged, as it potentially could damage ratings. So, they'll tee off on individuals, but they're not going to report on anything that could damage the game.
When Tim Donaghy got caught betting on NBA games he was officiating, the sports press IMMEDIATELY jumped on the NBA line that it was one rogue referee. What passed for investigative reporting was reading NBA press releases. Same thing with the steroid thing in baseball. You won't see the sports press get dragged into this at all if they can help it, and kicking and screaming and covering for MLB if they're forced to cover it.
BTW, my big prediction for the upcoming year: Big money sports takes a huge dive. Disposable income is down, and a lot of people aren't going to have money for $15 parking, $75 tickets and $8 beer. I think the team that takes the biggest hit is the Dallas Cowboys. They're opening a 1.3 billion dollar stadium, and Wade Phillips will bring them in at around .500.
Very good points.

Golf is even more boring to watch, but people do.
Basketball has even less action, really, guy either hits the shot or doesn’t, yet people watch it.
If you have no interest in the game why are you wasting your time reading and posting about it?
As stated before interest may change for a lot of people if they retooled the game.
I’m done with it.
They did retool the game. They let the Incredible Hulk play for every team at every position. Fans loved it. Now the same fans are crying foul.
...and the first and third base coaches could be blockers OR eligible receivers, all other players can assist inthe tackle but the runner can leave the baseline to avoid them, as long as he touches the bases in order.
