Obama starting to hit the road to sell economic plan, get a break from White House By BEN FELLER 7:12 PM CST, February 6, 2009 WASHINGTON (AP) — It's time to get out.
Barack Obama, who has spent most of his nascent presidency in the White House compound, is shifting into travel mode.
The rundown: Saturday and Sunday at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland; Monday in Indiana and Tuesday in Florida for economic events; Thursday in Illinois to commemorate Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday; and then Valentine's Day weekend with his wife, Michelle, at home in Chicago.
One motivation is for Obama to break free of the Washington debate and sell his economic plan among the people it is designed to help. The other is for the president simply to get away from the White House, the gated address that has quickly become his office and his family's home.

That is scary. I know our local electric company sent quite a few trucks and linesman to help out (we have some experience with ice storms here in CT), and I had heard the KY Nat Guard was mobilized, but local news hasn’t mentioned much more about the situation there.
Nothing worse or more dangerous than being without power in the winter, esp if you don’t have backup heat. I hope and pray your relatives get help soon.
This guy is nothing more than a puppet for the Chicago political machine and other folks like Soros. I really don’t think he ever had any clue what he was getting in to.

If you look at the benefits of the stimulus bill by state and county, you will see that everything goes to the inner cities. Those middle class folks in PA and OH and the auto workers in Michigan were played for fools. All they’re going to see is the unemployment line.
I disagree with you. As president he is NOT supposed to be above the laws and the laws say NO SMOKING in public/government offices. Now, in the private quarters of the WH he can just as Bush smoked cigars there. In his public office space he falls under the federal rules.
