This is a few days old but I thought it might be of interest.

Thanks for posting this article. I spent 6 weeks of the summer of 1967 at Governor's School which was held at Salem College in Old Salem. I had to spend those beautiful summer days writing compositions in French which was the area in which I was nominated. The only thing that made it bearable was the lovely setting and visits to the Farmer's Dairy Bar that was located on the corner.
Anyone in NC who has not been there before should make a point of visiting Old Salem. I would also recommend stocking up on Moravian cookies while you are there because they are not only unique, but also are simply delicious!

Sad that all the museums and historical places are suffering.
One of my best memories as a child was visiting Colonial Williamsburg and taking the Miss Manners tour.
Of course, almost no kids have any historical interests now.

“schools are not putting the emphasis on history that they once did.”
Sad but true.
