There was a movie he appeared in way back in the 50’s with Nancy Reagan (she was billed as Nancy Davis) called “The Next Voice You Hear”. It was about a voice coming on over the radio all over the world that said it was God speaking. James Whitmore played a man named Joseph, and Nancy Reagan played his pregnant wife, Mary. It was a wonderful movie, but I haven’t seen it on TV in many years. Does anyone else remember this movie?
I saw it once years ago.
He was a wonderful actor. I remeber him well from “Tora, Tora, Tora”
Prayers for his family, and that God forgives him for supporting Obama.

One of the best lines (and this isn’t verbatim) from the Original The thing
airmen-”...has a worry.”
“what is it?”
“what if this thing can read minds?”
“He’s gonna be real upset when he gets to me.”
for some reason that scene just cracks me up.

Words to the Combat theme song.
(Gunshots)
Proudly we bear the name of the Infantry,
Knowing we share the fame of the Army Infantry,
Where-ever liberty's battle must be won,
The Infantry has gone and so it shall go on.
Where there's a job to be done is where we'll be,
For we are the fighting men of the Infantry.
CHORUS
Follow me, left, right,
Follow me, left, right,
We'll go marching to hell and back if it has to be.
Follow me, left, right,
Follow me, left, right,
We're the ever ready men of the Infantry.

Freepers are a great source of knowledge.
I had no ideas the song had words—thanks.
I concur...his superior acting as a great NCO was as good as it gets.
Semper Fi,
RIP James Whitmore.
