Tumulus
Mogilite (In Bulgarian)
Let me translate the operative paragraph from Bulgarian.
Village TumuliVillage tumuli are remains of prehistorical villages [or settlements], which existed in the same place during thousands of years. They are characterized with very large diameter (up to hundreds of meters) and are always in proximity of source of water and sources of sustenance -- fertile agricultural land, mines, etc. Some of better known, researched prehistorical village tumuli in Bulgarian lands are Karanove (Nova zagora district), Yunatzite (Pazardjik district), Kodjadermen (Shumen district), Ovcharovo (Turgoviste district) a.o. [The toponymics at the source have links but they do not reflect the subject of tumuli and most are Wiki stubs].
