“Beets taste like cool moist dirt in the spring when you first start plowing.”
Um...I know EXACTLY what you’re trying to describe...but let’s say it this way:
“Beets TASTE like cool, moist dirt SMELLS in the Spring.”
People here already think we’re all Hillbillies, LOL!
I LOVE beets. It’s about 5 degrees outside right now, and I’m still up to my butt in snow...but I know there are fresh-dug beets in my future, so all is well. :)

“You cant teach what people dont want to learn.”
You’re right, in that respect. But there are plenty of people that started out as Hippies in my neck of the woods, though. ;)
They still have SOME desire to learn, once they shuck off their current ‘guise of ‘Yuppie.’ :)

Oh gag. Now it’s going to ruin my fun gardening.
I’ve been gardening for decades because I like it. Now everyone is going to think I’m doing it because of obama.
Puke....
I hate having people think that I’m following the crowd.

Hell, grow stuff? My kids will be lucky if the tax collector doesn't steal this land right out from under them! Anything we did grow would have to be inspected 18 times before anyone could eat it, anyway!
I don't make long range plans these days! The Constitution was always my guarantee, but it doesn't mean a thing today!

But, it IS a depressing thought...as in DEPRESSION. But, we’re ready. Right? :)

Maybe Obama just wants to be able to tell Michelle he’s going out to check the hoe’ers in the garden.

Smells. SMELLS!! That’s what I meant! LOL at myself.
Snow?! Yuck! It snowed here last week—about 3-4 inches. It was gone—mostly—the next day. That was plenty and more than enough winter for me! That was our ten year annual snow. :)

With security and all, it ought to come in at about $30k/cucumber.

I hate having people think that Im following the crowd. You and me both.
Do y'all remember when the series "Dallas" was popular and cowboy hats and boots with suits was all the rage? I changed my wardrobe. I'd been wearing such for years, but because I worked on Wall Street everyone thought I was just emulating that trend.

They ought to grow some corn to power the limos. Oh, and raise some chickens, to remind them of the minority leadership.

$200,000 income per acre??????
Incredible.
Been wanting to buy my fathers farm. But frankly I can’t find a way of financing and paying for it.
But if that $200k is for real, there is a chance. But somehow I just can’t believe it to be true. Veggies are not that profitable.

I never watched much TV. Certainly not the popular TV shows that everyone said were so great. :)
