Is there any free fixes for the virus, "Internet-Antivirus Pro"

It's killin' me over here and all the "Free Downloads detect it, but I have to pay for the key to the product.

There are several reasons why I don't fork out the dough, but I'll use the easiest one.... I ain't got the money right now!!

I just went there. At first I saw several links to other websites for the downloads. A second look and I saw the CNET download option. Thanks!

(Now, I’ve run out of room on my flash drive. )

Well, um, er, it’s not that I wouldn’t be up for the experience and all... I’m just fresh out of other systems in which to “physically set it up as a secondary drive.”

Yeah, that’s it.

And I just realized, I’m also fresh out of people whose eyes wouldn’t glaze over in discussing anything along these lines, including “slaving a hard drive.”

Rats.

:-)

(p.s., thanks for your help!)

Wow, 26 replies and not a single “Get a Mac”????

Macs are OK but the only reason why they don't get viruses is because there aren't enough of them around for anyone to go through all the trouble to write a Mac specific virus.

Well, that did it, but it took this long!!

I downloaded your last suggestion, took about 25 minutes to search. Then I hit quarantine and delete. After restarting, the computer did not want to restart...kept shutting off on it’s own! Man was I cussing your out!!

Then I tried starting in safe mode. It worked, and I seen an option for setting my date and time for earlier settings like another freeper suggested... This crashed my system, not before telling me it could not reset to a week ago... Now I’m about homicidal!!!!!!!!

The computer shut down, and restarted slowly. It finally came back up telling me it could not reset to last week, but I noticed the Antivirus icons were gone!!!!

So, after a spike in tremendous blood pressure, I’m good.... I’m fine...

Thanks...

(sigh...)

Wouldn’t those sites be “cnet/freemortgage.com” and “cnet/freegas.com”?

redundant array of independent disks (RAID)....only for hardware failures / read&write speed increases...cooties are still a pain even with RAID

cleaning your innards of your PC...then drink, have a double for me....you deserve it. One FREeeper above made an excellent point about the redirects, and disconnecting from the Net when you clean....be sure to follow that...I believe it means to physically disconnect from the DSL or Cable modem....dial up isn’t a threat for a reinfestation if your browser is closed.

"redundant array of independent disks"

I thought that was "redundant array of inexpensive disks".

Looks like you got things cleared up. I was just wondering, when you selected this and say your system "crashed", do you mean that after selecting the date and clicking restore the computer shut itself down? I know that whenever you attempt to system restore the computer will usually immediately shut down and then take 10 minutes or so to start back up (this is the restore process trying to succeed). I've seen system restore fail before, but I've never seen it blue screen, or "crash" a computer.

I guess in a nutshell, I'm asking if you can describe the "crash" from system restore for my own information. I apologize if the system restore attempt made matters worse.
