Lol!

The old 286 still got some life in her yet, eh?

Years ago, back around 99, I sometimes dialed in with an old Toshiba laptop, running Win98. It was a Pentium running at 75Mhz with 16 meg of core and a 300 meg hard drive, on a 28.8 modem.

Worked.

Didn’t work very dam fast and got really hot, would take like ten minutes to bring up a web page, but it worked!

Oh - a “Johnnie-Come-Lately”, huh??

I started out with an old 286 running WIN 3.1, dialing into local BBS’s (ya got the mimeographed list of dial-in numbers from your favorite hole-in-the-wall computer store) on a state-of-the-art 2400 (external) Modem....

Sometimes I miss those simpler days.....

Wow you sure know a lot. I only know I have dial up and an old computer. Runs windows 98 I get finger cramps from having to tap so hard on the keyboard. It is quite sticky as sometimes I eat while reading and posting.. :o(
