I disagree. The First Lady is crucial in dictating the social tone of the White House, and represents us to the world. Her charm, poise, fashion sense (or lack thereof) is important. Oh please. It would be one thing if she wore jeans and a t-shirt to the inauguration and parties, but she didn't. She has dressed completely appropriately. She just has a style that some people don't like. So what - get over yourselves!
Michelle isn't embarrassing anyone or "misrepresenting us" by the way she dresses. That's a lame excuse at this point for people that just want to be small and mercilessly critical.

I didn't say she was misrepresenting us. I think it's perfectly legitimate to aspire to a higher level and she can certainly do better in many ways. I wasn't nor am I advocating being mean, but there is nothing wrong with critique and suggestions.
