Has there been any other QB that has taken different teams to the Super Bowl? I can’t think of any off the top of my head.
I was thinking the same thing today. It seems like there is, but i can’t think of one.
Craig Morton....Dallas V, Denver XII
I was so rooting for Phoenix (R) and Pittsburgh (R) over Philadelphia (D) & Baltimore(D).
Earl Morrall took Batlimore to SB3 and then he essentially took the Dolphins to SB7.
This is a pet peeve of mine. This will NOT be the franchise's first trip to the *NFL championship*. In fact, the Cardinals WON the NFL championship when they were in it before. The only difference was, since it was 1947 (when the Cardinals were in Chicago), the game just wasn't CALLED the "Super Bowl." But it was still the NFL championship. They were lots and lots of NFL champions before the game was called "Super Bowl."
And actually, there were only four true NFL vs. AFL "Super Bowls" (1967-70), and only in the last two was the winner (Jets, Chiefs) someone different than the NFL champion.
The only QB to WIN the NFL championship for two different teams was Norm Van Brocklin, with the Rams in 1951 (although he split time with another QB) and with the Eagles in 1960,
OK thanks. I thought there was another.
Warner has done a tremendous job. But Peyton was just as deserving for the MVP as without him the Colts would not have made it to the playoffs. No way. No chance. Not even close.
Too bad the Colt’s defense lost the game for them, or they would have been playing this weekend too.
I’m hoping Warner and the Cards win the big prize. Great story, and he’s a great witness for the Lord too.
Browns fans from coast to coast were ecstatic about this for about 20 seconds until they realized the Steelers are back in the Super Bowl.
As far as the NFC goes I am personally happy that the Eagles choked again. I have nothing against them except that their quarterback is the classless, crybaby Donovan McNabb. He will probably blame Rush Limbaugh for the loss.
I'm sure ESPN’s Tom Jackson is just sick over the fact that his main squeeze McNabb is a loser again.
Hard to justify on a team that went 9-7 and made the playoffs only by virtue of the fact that it plays in the worst division in football.
I have to disagree with you on that! The gigantic problem with McNabb is the fact he's playing on the wrong team--a team whose fans have WAY too high expectations for the team, egged on by one very vociferous talk radio station: WIP (610 AM). Even the biggest sports talkers in New York City (WFAN 660 AM) and Boston (WEEI 850 AM) doesn't rile fans into a frenzy like WIP does. If fact, if you analyze Rush Limbaugh's comments from 2003 carefully, he's actually criticizing WIP for raising too much expectations for McNabb.
I’d really like to see Warner get another Super Bowl ring.
I doubt that will happen....
Please, no ObamaMessiah at the super bowl.

This is a different kind of football they'll be playing in the Super Bowl.
I'll be rooting for them.

Total class act indeed.
Right after Jesus, the Cards may want top thank the ref for not calling interference when they tripped the Eagles receiver on the fourth down play.
Then they would have to wait in line for the Eagles to finish thanking the refs for blowing the kick-off the Cards recovered.
My view was that the ball bounced in the air, hit the Eagle who was out of bounds and went back on the field. Sounds like Eagle's ball to me. Never did hear the announcers clearly describe the rule on that.
You don't follow football, do you?
Nothing and no one is more hated by the Brown fans than Art Modell. Wouldn't matter who's playing as long as baltimore loses. I know this, because I married one (Brown fan). Heck, Pittsburg is her secondary root for team because she knows Cleveland sucks and always has.
