Historically the home field advantage has meant the least in this round of the playoffs. I think it’s simply because the road team that gets this far is usually pretty damn good on the road to begin with.

The NFL has absolutely no respect for the fans who come to see these games live and little more for those of us who have to watch on television. That the Pittsburgh game, which could have been played in sunshine, or daylight at least, will be played at night when it is 20 degrees colder is obscene. It's 12:30 here on the east coast, and my body is ready for football to start a half hour from now. Are there really going to be enough more people who are going to watch at these unusual hours to disrupt the body rhythms of loyal fans?

I think the Cardinals have a good shot.. Has any team not played in the NFC Championship game since the merger??? The only one not to have made it one yet are the expansion Texans. Yes the Lions have actually been to one.

I had to sit through sub arctic temperatures a few years ago in the TEN-NE divisonal playoff game. It was also at night.

Cold and snowy here in Pittsburgh today. Its supposed to be around 20 degrees w/light snow (one to three more inches expected). Wind shouldn’t be an issue. Just thought I would share...
Terrible Towels are currently at rest and ready to strike.

I dunno exactly why, but I think the Houston Texans will be in the playoffs next year and make it to the AFC Championship game before the others. I LIKE the way you think. :-D

I can still remember as a ten year old kid watching the 1986 AFC title game and Cleveland downing the ball on the Denver two yard line my father telling me “that’s the ball game.” I still poke him about that.

I don’t think weather was going to be much of an advantage for either team.

As I said on an earlier thread; I know I will never be able to convince neutral-town conservative NFL fans to back the Eagles over the Cards. But ain't this picture a gem for us Eagle Fans. GO EAGLES!

Really, here in the Burgh, those who are lucky enough to have game tix don’t really care about the elements. I have sat out thru worse @both the Ketchup Bottle and old 3Rivers...and we yunzers just consider it ‘atmosphere.’

We all said it at that moment the ball was touched at the 2.
I was 20, and at that second I think I was jumping up and down in celebration, like a 2 year old on Christmas morning.......
Then Marty Schottenheimer called for the damn PREVENT DEFENSE, and the rest is history.

Hey...after viewing your home page, I will now ROOT for your beloved Texans (as a Giants fan, I have NO PROBLEM pulling for an AFC team)! Thanks for your patriotic service...stay safe.
