Two assistant football coaches apparently wrestling with each other fell through a hotel window Tuesday morning and fell four stories to a concrete sidewalk, leaving one in serious condition.
The American Football Coaches Association is holding its annual convention in Nashville, Tenn., and hotel security had been called around 4:10 a.m. with a noise complaint when officers found a broken window and Westminster College co-offensive coordinator Scott Coy and running backs coach Darren DeMeio outside on the ground below. Westminster is a Division III program in New Wilmington, Pa.
Coy, 29, is 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds. He was in critical condition and having surgery Tuesday at Vanderbilt University. DeMeio, 24, is 6-4, 225 pounds. Police said he was in fair condition but remained in the hospital.
I’m willing to bet that alcohol was involved. In fact I would venture to guess (based upon the relative size of these idiots) that there was a lot of alcohol involved.
Prayers up for the injured...
Were they suited up in Sumo gear?
And some people say coaches don’t really have an impact, but I don’t think these folks truly appreciate the gravity of their profession....here’s proof positive that they’re not above leading by example and creative thinking. I, for one, applaud their flights of fancy.
*..Groan..*
It was one getting the other in a Full Johnson to cause the fatal leap.
To be the man...you’ve got to beat gravity.
Memo to self...windows don’t bounce back like ring ropes.
I see what you did there.
That you, Nelson?
Nelson is out erecting a statue in their honor
They should have held the event in the fall.
Indeed. And then I’m sure that it would have been a smashing success.
